Shalom chaverim! Peace ('hello') friends!
Greetings in the name of Y'shua HaMashiach!
We are a Messianic Jewish congregation of Jewish and non-Jewish Believers in Y'shua HaMashiach.
*** We believe the Bible, composed both of the TANAKH(aka "Old Testament" that contains the Torah) and Brit Chadashah (New Covenant; aka "New Testament") is the complete, infallible, and authoritive Word of G-d.
*** We believe we have a responsibility to obey G-d, honoring all parts of Torah that can be fulfilled today; including weekly observance of Shabbat, and observing all other Holy Days in Torah; holy convocations commanded by G-d,because they were festivals designated by Him [Vayikra[Leviticus]23:1-4].
*** We believe G-d is "Echad" ("one") as declared in the Sh'ma [Deut. 6:4]. ECHAD, the plural form of "one" (i.e. in a dozen roses or a handful of pennies) ---- not "Yachid", which means "one" in the singular form (i.e. in one rose or one penny); He is a compound unity, manifesting Himself as the Father(Our Creator), Son(Y'shua), and Ruach HaKodesh(Holy Spirit). G-d revealed Himself, Y'shua ("Jesus"; Yeshua translated means salvation). He is the "seed of a woman" as promised in Beresheet [Genesis] 3:15, and that His virgin birth was to be a sign to Yisrael that He was(is) the promised Messiah.
*** We believe in water immersion commanded by Y'shua HaMashiach, as evidenced in Matthew 28:19 and Acts 2:38.
Our primary mission is to present the Good News of Messiah Y'shua to the lost sheep of the house of Yisrael and to unbelieving non-Jews; in fulfillment of Romans 1:16, "For I am not ashamed of the Good News of Messiah, for it is the power of G-d which leads to salvation to every one that trusts, to the Jew first and then to the Gentile(non-Jew)."[CJB]
As a Messianic Jewish congregation we work together to provide a secure, and genuine environment for worship and fellowship that allows for a Jewish cultural experience of Messianic faith in Messiah Y'shua.
We believe and accept that there is a spiritual unity bewteen all Believers in Y'shua (Jew and non-Jew). We recognize and accept non-Jewish Believers in Y'shua HaMashiach ("....branches broken off.....grafted in..." [Romans 11:9] ) joint heirs with Yisrael; united together, one nation before G-d. It is prophecy fulfilled;G-d's promise to Avraham written in the Torah, realized.[Beresheet(Genesis) 12:2-3].
SHABBAT
Saturday is SHABBAT (a "Holy Day"). Shabbat begins at sundown on Friday and ends sundown on Saturday. Shabbat is a gift from G-d to humankind; a day of rest and refreshing, where no work is to be performed. It is a day to spend time in praise and worship of our Creator. Keeping Shabbat was (is) commanded by G-d
[Leviticus 23:1-3].
Our Shabbat service begins promptly at 10:30am. Our liturgy includes Messianic Jewish style praise and worship, Torah service, and Drash(message). Our services are conducted in English, as well as usage of Hebrew language in songs, prayers, blessings, and Torah readings. A weekly Shabbat service bulletin and Messainic Jewish Siddur are provided to all in attendance. Shabbat School for school-age children (ages 5 -12) is available. We also have a nursery room for younger children.
After Shabbat service we have ONEG (it means "delight"); it is a fellowship meal. A time to socialize; giving us a chance to eat and chat with fellow congregants; catch up with old friends, and get aquainted with new visitors.
After the oneg, we have TORAH Study and Prayer. We get together and discuss the week's Bible readings; Parashat (Torah portion). The readings include portions from the Torah and HafTorah of the TANAKH, as well as Brit Chadashah(New Covenant) and its application to our lives. We end with prayer (agreeing together for G-d's will in all matters). It is a blessed, spiritually enlightening, and rewarding time. EVERYONE is welcome!
Once a month on Shabbat we hold the L'zikroni Service: 'Messiah's Remembrance Meal' service. A time for the congregation to partake of the matza (unleaven bread) and p'ri hagafen(fruit of the vine) in memory of our L-rd, Y'shua HaMashiach.
On occasion we hold a congregational HAVDALAH service at our synagogue. Havdalah is the evening ceremony(commonly done at home) that ends Shabbat; we say "good-bye" to Shabbat and welcome the new week.
Special services in observance of the Biblical HOLY DAYS are scheduled according to yearly Jewish calendar.
