IMPORTANT QUOTES FROM AROUND THE WORLD.

                                                    AUSTRALIA

Dr. Kerryn Phelps stated in 1999 (when she was the President of the A.M.A.), "I would challenge any Politicians to look any person in the eye, who has intolerable symptoms, and say, "We know there is something that might work for you, but we are not going to make it legal".
                                                         _______

Ms Margaret Hole stated in 1999 (when she was President of the NSW Law Society), "The illegality of Cannabis for people for whom it was the only workable palliative treatment, was a human rights issue. if I have a disease, I have a human right to be treated with the best medicine possible". She also stated that she could "see no reason why the law could not be changed to exempt people who needed cannabis for their conditions".
                                                         _______

"This (medical cannabis) is something practical we can do to reduce the sum of misery in the world. This duty is imperative when it comes to as complex an issue as the use of cannabis. As legislators we should be able to rise to this challenge......

....The complexity of an issue does not provide a license to walk away while ordinary people suffer and acquire criminal records simply for treating their illness and relieving their suffering in the only way that works for them. With a sensible mixture of compassion and common sense we can make a medical cannabis regime work in this state, as it works in other jurisdictions around the world". (Former Premier of NSW - Mr. Bob Carr. Hansard, 20th May 2003)
                                                         _______

.... "The Government has a responsibility to look to other solutions (when talking about medical cannabis and cancer patients) to help patients suffering from these conditions as soon as possible". (Mr. John Della Bosca. MP)
                                                         _______
Our former Prime Minister, (John  Howard) said (when in Office), "It is not the role of Government to tell people what risks and choices they can and can't take".
Our present Prime Minister, Mr. Kevin Rudd,  (when in Opposition) stated, "Australians must not kow-tow to anybody when it comes to freedom in this country".
and 8th March found Mr. Kevin Rudd (P.M.) stating, "We are there to extend a helping hand to those in need"
and...."We are not going to throw the fair go out the back window" - also P.M. Rudd.
and....“Compassion is not a dirty word….It’s time we rehabilitated compassion into the National Political vocabulary of this great nation of ours”. Prime Minister, Mr. Kevin Rudd.

......This leaves many medical cannabis users wondering if they are actually part of the Australian community, as they see that none of the above 3 statements actually apply to them.

Merck Institute. USA. “The main goals of drug development are effectiveness (efficacy) and safety. Because all drugs can harm as well as help, safety is relative. The difference between the usual effective dose and the dose that produces severe or life-threatening side effects is called the MARGIN OF SAFETY. The wider the margin of safety, the more useful the drug. If a drug's usual effective dose is also toxic, doctors do not use the drug unless the situation is serious and there is no safer alternative. http://www.merck.com Note: Cannabis has a safety margin of 1:40,000

Journal of the American Medical Association. "One of Cannabis’ greatest advantages as a MEDICINE is its remarkable safety. It has little effect on major physiological functions. There is no known case of a lethal overdose; Cannabis is also far less addictive and far less subject to abuse than many drugs now used as muscle relaxants, hypnotics, and analgesics. The ostensible indifference of physicians should no longer be used as a justification for keeping this medicine in the shadows.” June 21, 1995. Commentary. p. 1874-1875.
                                                           _______

Thomas Jefferson. “If people let the GOVERNMENT decide which foods they eat and medications they take, their bodies will soon be in as sorry a state as are the souls of those who live under tyranny“.

                                                          _______

Dr. Dean Edell, M.D. “Most of us in the medical profession believe this decision (banning medical cannabis) is POLITICALLY MOTIVATED. Cannabis as medicine works“. - (Syndicated Radio Show Host & ABC TV Medical Advisor)

                                                          _______

Dr. Andrew Weill M.D. USA. “I have seen in my own studies that cannabis is less toxic than most pharmaceutical drugs in current use, and is certainly helpful for some patients, including those with wasting syndrome, chronic muscle spasticity and tractable nausea. As a physician, I am frustrated that I cannot prescribe marijuana for patients who might benefit from it. At the very least I would like to be able to refer them to a safe, reliable, quality-controlled source."

                                                          _______

Dr. Marian (Mollie) Fry. "I took an oath to do no harm. If a doctor is willing to give you a prescription for a drug that is addictive or could kill you, then why should you not be able to choose a non-toxic drug like cannabis?".

                                                           _______

Prof. L. Grinspoon. Harvard University. 2006. "There are many thousands of patients who currently use cannabis as a medicine... There is no question about its safety. It is one of humanity's oldest medicines, used for thousands of years by millions of people with very little evidence of significant toxic effects. More is known about its adverse effects than about those of most prescription drugs." published in Cannabis Health (Vol. 4, No. 3, March/April 2006):

"Paul Flynn M.P, UK. "People around the world have testified in their thousands about the benefits of taking cannabis to relieve CHRONIC PAIN," he said. "What About Me And Others Like Me?"  - copyright Jan.  2007

(Parody of ‘What About Me?’ - by Moving Pictures)

Well, there’s a little sufferer waiting at the counter of the ‘Fair Go’ Shop.

He’s been waiting for them to care, waiting for the day,

But Govvy never respects him from the top.

He gets pushed around, knocked to the ground,

He falls to his knees and he pleads, (….along with cancer, pain & neuro sufferers),

“What about me? This just isn’t fair,

I deserve a ‘Fair Go’, I deserve my share.

Can’t you see, we just want to live,

But ’you’ choose hate instead of live and let live.

Well, some are dying while waiting at the counter of the ‘Fair Go’ shop,

Others are waiting back there, waiting for the dream,

The dream walks out while in comes a ‘cop’.

How much of a crowd must cry out loud,

And run through the streets and SCREAM….

“What about us? This isn’t ‘just or fair,

We deserve a ‘Fair Go’, We deserve our share.

Can’t you see, we just want to live,

But ’you’ choose hate instead of live and let live.

Bridge:

So take a step back and see us all as equal,

We may be different, but we’re the ones that help make up the ‘fair go’.

So listen as we whisper,  What about us?

Right now we’re standing on the corner of apartheid’s home.

No body (…Gov’t bodies, Research bodies etc…) has changed,

Nobody’s been saved. We’ve been put out in the cold, all alone.

I guess we’re sort of lucky, though we get hunted a lot.

Other countries line ‘us’ up against a wall….TO BE SHOT.

But still, what about me? This just isn’t fair,

I deserve a ‘fair go’, I deserve my share.

Can’t you see, we just want to live,

But ‘you’ choose hate instead of live and let live.

What about me? This isn’t ‘just ‘ or fair,

I deserve a ‘fair go’, I deserve my share.

Can’t you see, we just want to live,

But some choose hate instead of……some choose hate instead of…..

Some choose hate, instead of live and let live.

But what about me….and others like me?

"Young Man, Do As We Say"   -   copyright   2007

(Parody of Y.M.C.A. - The Village People)

Young man, do exactly as we say

And take legal, drugs ev-er-y day.

Meanwhile, young man, your choice is denied,

Welcome to drug a-par-theid…..

Young man, we don’t care what benefits you,

I said, young man, make sure it’s our drugs you do.

Or else, young man, you’ll find yourself in court,

While our drug -Car- tels - own sport.

It’s fun to apply Apartheid Policy,

Just to force legal drug supremacy,

You can score a try, for your favourite drug

And give it’s cartels a hug.

It’s fun to apply Apartheid Policy,

Just to force legal drug supremacy.

We’ll help you get clean, then put you on drugs that are ‘real’.

You can feel what we want you to feel.

Young man, you will listen to me,

I said, young man, I own your right to be free.

I said, young man, you will do as you’re told,

Because your-rights-have-been-sold.

We will, tell you what to take for health,

I said, young man, suffering comes after wealth,

So, just go now, to the Pharmacy

Or to the pub and get off-your-tree.

It’s fun to apply Apartheid Policy,

Just to force legal drug supremacy,

We have all the drugs, that you need to enjoy,

You can abuse drugs with all the boys.

It’s fun to apply apartheid policy,

Just to force legal drug supremacy,

You can suffer with seizures, or a disease of the brain,

We don’t care that you’re in pain.

Young man, I know there are others like you,

Who benefit from Cannabis, yes I know that it’s true.

I just don’t care, you will take what I say,

Our drugs are-the-on-ly-way.

Young man, Our drugs kill thousands a year,

Yet they’re legal, so you have nothing to fear.

From persecution, prejudice and hate,

That now de-cides-your-drug-choice-fate.

It’s fun to apply apartheid policy,

Just to force legal drug supremacy,

Cannabiphobia rules, we play Australia for fools,

The law is now our personal tool.

That’s how we apply apartheid policy,

Replacing justice with drug supremacy.

A fair go has gone, drug apartheid has won,

So make sure it’s our drugs you’re on…….or else!

"Stating the Obvious"   -   copyright  2007

When wealth is placed before health, there is a problem.

When greed is placed before need, there is a problem.

When supremacy is placed before suffering, there is a problem.

When revenue is placed before respect, there is a problem.

When politics is placed before patients, there is a problem.

When media is placed before medicine, there is a problem.

When brutality is placed before benefit, there is a problem.

When apartheid is placed before acceptance, there is a problem.

When discrimination is placed before deliverance, there is a problem.

When control is placed before compassion, there is a problem.

Lots of problems - one solution.

                                A FAIR GO FOR ALL.

The true meaning of ‘a fair go’ for all is “a just, equal and balanced journey in life for every individual”.

"Cannabis Survival" -      copyright   March 2008

(Parody of "Country Revival" - Slim Dusty)

They say that Cannabis doesn't deserve survival,

They say that Cannabis culture is a crime.

Well, I say 'What the hell are they talking about?

Cannabis ain't their culture, it is mine.

There's a lot more people now admitting,

They like taking Cannabis after all.

But with dollar signs now replacing the 'fair go',

It's 'piss up' or 'piss off' for one and all.

They say that their drug culture is 'all good',

While ours only deserves genocide.

And while their drug lords control every single medium,

They force others through fear to run and hide.

They say that Cannabis doesn't deserve survival,

They say that Cannabis culture is a crime.

Well, I say 'What the hell are they talking about?

Cannabis ain't their culture, it is mine.

When legal drug culture just took over,

They forced our culture underground,

They spread fear and prejudice about what we believe,

Whilst advocating their drugs in every town.

Oh they say that they believe they're only 'drinking',

Drug taking is bad, is what they say.

But I know that their 'drink' contains a drug,

That causes (through abuse) 7.6 BILLION dollars in decay.

They say that Cannabis doesn't deserve survival,

They say that Cannabis culture is a crime.

Well, I say 'What the hell are they talking about?

Cannabis ain't their culture, it is mine.

"G'Day, Your rights are burning"  -    copyright  March 2008

Parody of "G'Day, G'Day" - Slim Dusty.

G'Day, G'Day, your rights are burning,

We don't care, we set them alight.

G"Day, G'Day, while your rights are burning,

Just take only our drugs, and you'll be right.

Isn't it grand to be an eth'o?

We take a drug on par with 'crack'. (Under Criteria of Harm, not revenue)

Drug abuse is perfectly legal,

While on another's choice, we wage another attack.

Our drugs kill, we really don't care.

'Take only our drugs' is what we say.

If you want to be 'dinky di', give only our drugs a try,

For our drugs are now the only way.

G'Day, G'Day, your rights are burning,

We don't care, we set them alight.

G'Day, G'Day, while your rights are burning,

Just take only our drugs, and you'll be right.

Now we love to wage war and go crusading.

Cultural genocide is what we do.

To human rights we now say, 'See ya later',

While standing with our drug lords of the 'all good brew'.

Now do as we say or we'll eradicate ya,

Our drugs are good, your drugs are bad - Hooray!

In the Land of the True Blue, we steal your rights from you,

When you want a 'fair go', 10 to 1 here's what we'll say......

G'Day, G'Day, your rights are burning,

We don't care, we set them alight.

G'Day, G'Day, while your rights are burning,

Just take only our drugs, and you'll be right.

It's a war that's now waged across Australia,

With hatred, prejudice and genocide.

It's a legal form of social segregation,

And we eradicate you in the name of le-ee-gal drug pride.

G'Day, G'Day, your rights are burning,

We don't care, we set them alight.

G'Day, G'Day, while your rights are burning,

Just take only our drugs, and you'll be right.

Just take only our drugs, and you'll be right.....

Just take only our drugs, and you'll be right.

"We've Done Our Drug Lords Proud".     copyright Feb. 2008

Parody of "We've Done Us Proud". - Slim Dusty (written by Graham Connors).

We've done our drug lords proud,

We've helped push them far,

Down through the years,

To where they now are.

We stand side by side,

And hand in hand,

With drug cartels

In this Great Land,

We've done our drug lords proud.

I push the drugs to force dominion,

I hunt the foil, deny the seed to grow.

I force the policies that treat people like cattle,

I violate human rights, from the young to the old.

I keep my drugs cheap, while treating others like faeces.

I protect my drug lords, every single day.

I help build an Empire, that now owns our country,

I wage a war, because I'm 'on the take'.

We've done our drug lords proud,

 We've helped push them far,

With drug cartels

In this Great Land,

We've done our drug lords proud.

I invade a home, and persecute a family,

While I teach your children that our drugs are 'all good'.

I teach apartheid because it's legal,

I do as I please, because I can.

We've done our drug lords proud,

We've helped push them far,

Down through the years,

To where they now are.

And hand in hand,

With drug cartels

In this Great Land,

We've done our drug lords proud.

We've done our drug lords proud,   (I protect the drug factories).

We've helped push them far. (I force the Master Plan)

Down through the years, (I protect the drug houses)

To where they now are (I am the 'man'!)

We stand side by side (I force things my way),

And hand in hand (Deny your rights as wrong),

With drug cartels (I am your Master),

In this Great land (You will sing my song).

We've done our drug lords proud.

"Strange Kind of Justice" -    copyright March 2008

Parody of "Strange Kind of Woman" - Deep Purple.

There once was justice, a simple kind of justice.

The kind of justice that walked in hand with a 'fair go'.

Her name was Lady Liberty, she believed that all must be free,

Now freedom's changed to slavery - oh, don't you know.

She cared about me, about my right to be free,

She believed in justice and equality.

Yet some now enslave her, manipulate and rape her,

They violate human rights and genocide the 'tree'.

I want to, I need to, I gotta help free you,

Cause freedom in this country has just gone amiss.

I want to, I need to, I gotta help free you,

From this strange kind of 'justice'.

They violate and desecrate and forcibly decide our fate,

We've been 'sold down the river', thanks to 'Uncle Tom'.

We're chained like an eagle, bound by the word 'illegal',

And hunted down by 'druggies' with badges and guns.

I want to, I need to, I gotta help free you,

Cause freedom in this country has just gone amiss.

I want to, I need to, I gotta help free you,

From this strange kind of 'justice'.

We know that they hate you and me for they write it into policy,

While standing with their dealers for 'legal drug pride'.

I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired,

While my choice of medicine to me is denied.

I want to, I need to, I gotta help free you,

Cause freedom in this country has just gone amiss.

I want to, I need to, I gotta help free you,

From this strange kind of 'justice'.

Oooohhhh,  ooooohhhh, ooohhhh,

Ooooohhhh I want the 'fair go', too.

"We Care A Lot"   -    copyright April 2008

This parody is dedicated to Nine's Booze Network (NBN, Australia). Parodied from            'We Care A Lot" - Faith No More.....after NBN decided to release the 'We care"        Campaign, side by side with the most blatant drug pushing Campaign (albeit         buzzwsord 'legal' drugs) on TV yet....although the other Networks aren't far behind.

We care a lot about our ratings and our great revenue stream,

We care a lot about our drugs, while forcing others to get 'clean'.

We care a lot about drug pushing through celebrity and sport,

We care a lot, we just don't give a damn if you end up in Court.

We care a lot about glorifying drugs and calling them a 'drink'.

We care a lot about our drug cartels that never seem to think.

We care a lot about us pushing drugs in family TV time,

We care a lot and we are proud as punch, that this ain't called a crime.

Yeah, and it's a dirty job but revenue makes us do it.

Yeah, and it's a dirty job but revenue makes us do it.

Yeah, and it's a dirty job but revenue makes us do it.

Yeah, and it's a dirty job but revenue makes us do it.

We care a lot about stepping up to bat for our drug cartels,

We care a lot about making sure that only our drugs sell.

We care a lot about drug signage lining both sides of our game,

(Nine's Wide World of Drugs)

We care a lot about drug scapegoats, upon whom we lay the blame.

Yeah, and it's a dirty job but revenue makes us do it.

Yeah, and it's a dirty job but revenue makes us do it.

Yeah, and it's a dirty job but revenue makes us do it.

Yeah, and it's a dirty job but revenue makes us do it.

We care a lot about denying others their medicine of choice.

We care a lot about the suffering while we help silence their voice.

We care a lot about the policies that put people through fear.

We care a lot, as long as we can push spirits, wine and beer.

Yeah, and it's a dirty job but revenue makes us do it.

Yeah, and it's a dirty job but revenue makes us do it.

Yeah, and it's a dirty job but revenue makes us do it.

Yeah, and it's a dirty job but revenue makes us do it.

Advance Australia Fair?      -   copyright April 2008

Parody: Advance Australia Fair-Australian Anthem.
Australians let's all state with one voice...
That we all have the right to be free.
The Fair go is for all, not just for those
Who believe in supremacy.
Our land is now in civil war
While no-one seems to care.
That collective groups join together today
To Advance Australian Despair.

.....While abuse is rife and we now live in strife,
They advance Australian despair.

Beneath our radiant Southern Cross
We struggle to understand,
Why we are forced by Political powers
To do as they command.
We want our rights to be free,
We want our Government to care.
To show us some compassion today,
To advance Australia FAIR

.....To let the bells of freedom ring,
To advance Australia fair.

The Fair Go Calls Australia Home     -  copyright April 2008

Parody of "I still Call Australia Home" - Peter Allen.

Here in Australia we get abused and put down.
They greet others with a smile, and us with a frown.
But even though we're hunted
Wherever we roam,
We still call Australia home.

We're always asking for our right to be free.
For fairness, for justice, for equality.
And even though our Government
Won't leave us alone,
We still call Australia home.

All the sons and daughters,
Locked up 'round the world,
Away from their families and friends.
But, as people get wiser,
And kinder,
It's good to know that this War must end.

Some day this country will end its Civil War,
When the Dictator-ship finally leaves our shore.
Then they'll realize something
That we've always known
The Fair Go calls Australia.....
The Fair Go calls Australia.....
The Fair Go calls Australia.....HOME.

Prohibition        -    copyright April 2008

(Parody of: "I am, you are, we are Australian" -chorus only)

We're at war, at war with many.

And from all the lands on earth they come.

We force a scheme and deny your choice,

I am, you are, we are Prohibition.

(Remember, "to deny someone their choice in favour of your own, is to force slavery").
