Welcome to Mecamike's website of opinions.
OK, This is a website I created about my opinions on several subjects, including American patriotism,Zappa, remarkably stupid behavior of the general population, religion, politics and other possibly unrelated stuff. My thoughts have been known to cause anger, warts and in some rare cases...self loathing.
If you have a problem with the opinions I might put forth or rantings about the harmless links I provide to other sites, get involved, write your congressman and make a difference by using your right to vote or shut the hell up.
After all, I'm not makin' you read this. Enforced recreation is only fun for the enforcer some of the time, so if you feel a connection with the opinions put forth here or if you can "see" where i'm comin' from, check yourself for warts right away.
If your traveling at the speed of light in your car, and you turn your headlights on...will they work? It's questions like this that I find myself pondering, as opposed to what is politically correct or is God an African American,(not that it matters either way). After all, it's questions like "will that extremist Muslim blow up that public transportation going to the mall because of reasons that matter only to him?" that really matters.
All that aside, (including the angry young muslim above) life is too short to allow peer pressure or religious expectations blind your mind to whats truly important in life, the pursuit of personal happiness. Linus once said "theres three things you should never discuss in public, religion, politics and the great pumpkin". It seems I've already blown two of em'.
Now...Have I mentioned how unbelievably dumb the questions the media asks people during interviews are? Like..."how did you feel when you found out that your 12 year old daughter had been sexually assaulted by the kidnapper"? or..."Are you relieved to find your parents had escaped their burning home unharmed"? Come On!!... Gimme a break you guys, that ain't news, that isn't even good reporting. In my opinion theres no room for sensationalism in factual news reporting. I'm absolutly a believer in freedom of speech, but the news media DAILY insults the intelligence of of everyone who hears their drivel. Gas... It gives me gas!
Don't think I haven't considered the possible consequences of agnosticism on my "post life" existance . My father was a minister, albeit in a Jewish sex cult, so i'm not a stranger to the Bible, (thats right...even the New Testament wasn't off limits to these Jewish wannabes.) Religion is the manifestation of mankinds incredible ability to rationalize anything, and everything he doesn't understand.
GOD
Our behavior and our beliefs reflect the way we want to be perceived by others, we dress and wear our hair the way we want to be seen, we create our own hells and then we live in them. And yet we are all...ALL just products of our environments. With belief systems tailor designed by like minded people to make us feel safe and fulfilled on our lifes paths.Giving our lives meaning where before there might have been none. We have a million questions about life, death, Gods great purpose for mankind. Questions about how God could allow an innocent three year old child to endure death by blood disease or cancer, or rape and murder by some evil scumbag. Then another Lowlife human escapes mankinds feeble attempt at justice enjoying the fruits of other peoples labors scott free. And don't tell me they will pay the price in hell or they will answer to God at the foot of His throne. There is NO hell, (except the one we create for ourselves during life), and I know religious rationalizations can and will cover all of these questions and more, each one more unsubstantiated than the last. If i've missed anything, feel free to leave a message in the guestbook and I will promptly alter my views to conform to your idea of rational thought.
How about those infernal machines? How did we ever get through the day without em'? You can only move forward, you can never go back... never. I,ve heard some people say they wish they could go back to a time when life was simpler, no frustrating machines or nonhuman interactions taking place everywhere you go. Well guess what, it wasn't any easier back then than it is today, in fact it was alot harder to survive then than it is now so quit whining and exercise a little patience because i'm sure it will work better than hitting the side of your tower or forcing your printer cartridge left and right to get it to work.
