Meanderings

Disney fans know all about Jodi Benson and her groundbreaking role as Ariel, the Little Mermaid.  Ms. Benson was perhaps the most successful Disney voice actor in recent years, having gathered a huge fan base and performing a variety of additional voiceover work for the Mouse company and other animation firms.  She has also performed steadily on stage, in music, and even the occasional movie role.  (One of her most recent roles was a tongue-in-cheek appearance on the blockbuster Amy Adams movie, Enchanted.)

She has too many roles to document here; however, I would like to talk about two of these roles right here.

	She provided the voice of Ann Darrow, the female lead in The Mighty Kong, a cheesy adaptation of the classic King Kong story.  Her voice was easily the best part of this movie.
	Then you have her work in the wholesome, values-teaching video series, Guideposts Junction.  One of her exchanges with her co-host, Wally T. Turtle, was an undeniable Mermaid reference.
