Hydrating

This week, I learned a valuable lesson on keeping one's self hydrated.

I've had to spend a great deal of time working in a sweltering hot office with the sun streaming through the window. It was a particularly hot week, and the air conditioning in my office has not been on.  On top of that, I've also been putting in some extra cardiovascular exercise and weight training.

Well, I must not have been drinking enough water.  One night, I found myself feeling very warm and tired.  I still went to work on the next day, since I wasn't sneezing or coughing, and I figured that this might have just been overtraining.  I was very exhausted throughout the day though, and I even had to take a rest on the floor of my office.

Later on, I figured out that the symptoms were consistent with dehydration.  I thought I had been drinking enough fluids, but apparently not.  It's amazing how dehydration can creep up on you that way.  I didn't even feel particularly thirsty, mind you.  It just crept up on me.

Darn.
