Ruff Life Rescue,Inc.

title

Ruff Life Rescue, Inc is a NO KILL RESCUE organization. We will not euthanize a dog entrusted to our care due to space, minor health or behavioral issues.

It is the belief of Ruff Life Rescue Inc and it's Board Members that every dog has the right to be given an opportunity to experience life without pain ,fear, abuse or neglect and to receive appropriate medical treatment, behavioral training and love in an indoor home.

In the event one of our dogs is deemed by a licensed Veterinarian to be beyond medical help and to be suffering with no quality of life possible even after treatment, a majority vote of the Board Members of Ruff Life Rescue, Inc will be required for humane euthanization to take place.

This must only be done under the care of a licensed Veterinarian.  Their foster parent or current caretaker will be present to be sure they pass over the Rainbow Bridge in the person that cared for thems arms.

One exception will be a dog with unprovoked or sporadic people aggression.Any dog that the voting Board Members and our veterinarian deems too aggressive to safely work with or handle minimally can be subject to a humane euthanization after a majority vote of our Board Members. Any dog that actually breaks skin in an unprovoked attack will not be admitted into our public adoption program. We may seek sanctuary for this dog if there is space in available programs.

Any dog that has a history of unprovoked aggression of any kind will have a medical evaluation. If no medical reason can be identified and reasonable alternatives such as behavior modification and or medication therapy has been tried over a period of time and found to be unsuccessful the decision to euthanize the dog will be made by a majority vote of the Board Members and Behavior Evaluation Team, including a licensed veterinarian, of Ruff Life Rescue, Inc.

The humane euthanization must be done under the care of a licensed Veterinarian. Their foster parent or current caretaker will be present to be sure they pass over the Rainbow Bridge in the person that cared for thems arms.

Although we pull from high-kill shelters that euthanize for reasons against Ruff Life Rescues Policies, we will not enter into a working rescue relationship with individuals, rescues or other groups that do not share our philosophy as it undermines the core values of Ruff Life Rescue, Inc.

All Ruff Life Rescue Inc Board Members, Veterinarians, Foster Parents and Volunteers who handle our rescued dogs must believe in, adhere and agree to this policy.
