- My Research Interests

The core of my current work lies in symplectic geometry, harmonic analysis in phase space, Weyl calculus, and the applications of these disciplines to quantum mechanics. I am particularly interested in quantum mechanics in phase space. According to many physicts there can be no such thing because of Heisenberg's uncertainty principle. Not so! Quantum mechanics lives in phase space, exactly as classical mechanics does. This becomes obvious if one constructs an irreducible representation of the Heisenberg group by extending the Heisenberg-Weyl operators to act on the range of the wave-packet transform.of square-integrable functions...

You will find out more about what I am doing by going to my research page http://www.freewebs.com/mauricedegosson/research.htm

- Hobbies

History of Science, epistemology, and ontological questions in quantum mechanics. I also have some material and physical hobbies, such as going out to eat good food and drink good beverages. I also like video games and karate.
