At the young age of 24 Matthew McGurk has already won over ten national awards for his unique brand of magic and been honoured with the titles ‘British Magical Champion’ and The Magic Circle ‘Young Magician of the Year 1999’ a competition that is seen as an international showcase for the rising stars in magic.
Matthew is a professional close-up entertainer specialising mainly in private and corporate functions. He has entertained some of the biggest companies in the country including BMW, HSBC, The Royal Bank of Scotland and TESCO. He was also honoured and asked to open The World of Glass a 16 million pound project by Pilkington Glass in his hometown of St. Helens. Review
Matthew has appeared on national television many times including features on ‘Blue Peter’ ‘The Big Breakfast’ ‘Granada Tonight’ and ‘The Jerry-A-Trick Show.’ Media attention has also led to articles in ‘The Times’ Newspaper and ‘Worlds Fair’ magazine. Matthew has dazzled many celebrities with his professional work including Denise Van Outen, Sharon Davis, and Joe Pasquali. He has also worked for Paul Daniels and Jerry Sadowitz.
He continues to be in demand all over the country and is currently working on an act to one day, represent England in FISM the world championships of the magic world.
