Well, I've never done much of a blog type thing before, but I figure giving occasional news tidbits will keep the five people who've ever looked at this site interested.  

Anywhoo, I've been playing an awesome game called Urban Terror for the past few months, and have particularly enjoyed the sever run by rudcrustage (typically called RUD on the game).  RUD was nice enough to let my, n00b that I am, become an admin on the site, which features some pretty awesome custom maps.  If you happen to play Urban Terror, stop buy RUD's server.  My name on there is |R|Matoro1989.

Unfortunately, my macbook pro (anyone who knows me knows I am not a mac fanboy, and I loath mac fanboys, even though I have some friends who would be proud to be called fanboys...  run-on sentence fragment...  ) ...  where was I?  ...  Oh, right, my mac...  Well, it seems my video driver is goofing up.  The computer starts up, and I can make it log in, and change the volume and click things, but I can't see anything I'm doing.  The screen is completely black.  I took it to the residential technology department, and we plugged it into another monitor, but that screen was black too.  So it's not like a cable is broken in the screen hinge, it's something a little more serious.  Thank Dad for the warranty!  The mac certified repair shop on campus will be able to replace parts for free because of the warranty but I'll still need to pay for labor.   So I write this from the extremely slow dell that I borrow from the front desk at my dorm.   Oh, well - I still believe apple stuff is very over-rated and over-priced, though I miss the quick login time.

On a more interesting note, I have started working on a storyboard for a cartoon.  I've had this concept of a martial arts cartoon for several years.  I'm not going to say too much now, but if I can get this thing to turn out the way I have it in my head, it will be mind-blowing.  It's a style inspired by anime, but with more stylized simplified curves for the artwork.  I hope to make it have a live-action quality frame-rate and a lot of three-dimensional effects.

Well, it looks like this site might actually become worth looking at over the next few months.  For those of you who remember the days when I had little game-maker games, I don't know if that stuff will ever come back.  I've forgotten most of the programming stuff from not doing it recently, and it's difficult to use game-maker through paralells on mac.
