Mass. Zone 10 Legion Baseball

From the desk of the Commissioner

Gents,

It's that time of year again.  Teams must be ready for sectional playoffs.  I recommend that, because the standings are showing 12 teams in position to be in our 8-team zone playoffs (by the point system), that you prepare carefully!  If you then are successful in our zone playoffs, which will conclude on July 17, 2009, you will attend a sectional meeting on July 18, 2009, for which you must prepare the following "Documentation Package" (which will be posted on our district website):

1.  Form 1, front and back page:  Can be done electronically or typed.  Must incude school, post department certification of signatures.

2.  Form 2, Player Agreement, for each player.

3.  Insurance certificates (medical, liability).

4.  Form 76, Team Transfers.

5.  Form 77, Team Declarations, if you have any, plus Mapquests of all non-base school players (closest to you and to the next closest team (remember, this will be looked at by Legion officials from other districts).

6.  Any other suporting documentation such as guardianship papers, translation of records, etc.

7.  Original birth certificate, with raised seal, for each player.  Failure to comply for any player will result in that player not being allowed to play in any ame until correct certification is provided.  Remember:  notarized photocopies are not acceptable, regardless of form.

8.  Four photos, each 5 in. x 7 in., each accompanied by a listing of the names of players (one sheet for each photo).

Remember, July 18 is D-Day.

Jack

From the desk of the Commissioner

In accordance with the by-laws for 2009, the District 10 playoffs must begin no later than Tuesday, July 14 (weather permitting), and end no later than Friday, July 17, 2009.

The schedule ends July 10.  However, because of rain this season, I know teams will have to use July 11, 12, and 13 as makeup dates.  Bear in mind that if you are rained out in the week of July 6 thru July 10, you will have no time for makeups.  I am giving one rain day during District 10 playoffs.

I don't want to invoke the playoff rule for an incomplete District 10 playoff.
