Masia Cal Pau Cruset

The Masia:

The 150 year old, recently renovated wine farm (750 sq meters in total) is surrounded by 2,5 hectares of vineyards

and a large garden with fruit trees, olives and almond trees. The house is located close to Sant Marti, near Vilafranca in the wine (Cava) region “the Penedes”. 

The house is about 18 km from the beaches in Vilanova and Sitges.

The sea can be seen from the hills 1-2 kms behind the house. The house has 3 separate units that can be rented together or apart.

The 4x12 meter swimming pool is located at the far end of the garden between the fruit and palm trees.  A small "wellness centre" with a jacuzzi, sauna and massage chair has recently been installed in the swimming pool area.  The yoga room (for 12-14 people maximum) with floor heating will be ready soon as well.

The masia lends itself well for  group  outings like workshops or courses.  Cooking and cleaning is available upon request.

We have very friendly dogs, cats and ducks on the premises and guests are welcome to bring their own pets as well.

The Surroundings:

The environment of Vilafranca is very beautiful, and called the Tuscany of Spain in the guidebooks.  From the house and garden,  

on the southern side  the forest  “Torre Foix” with the castle of Sant Marti  and a “hermitage” on the west side, both lit by night can be seen.

It is a beautiful area for hiking, biking or wine tasting in one of the hundreds of small wineries of the region.

Quiet but well connected: Small local shops are available in Sant Marti where you can bike to (3 kms).  Vilafranca has 3 cinemas, a big outdoor market every Saturday, a train station with trains to Barcelona every 15 minutes and about 15 large supermarkets.

We do recommend you bring a car: it is about 6 minutes to Vilafranca, 45 to Barcelona and 40 to Tarragona.  We have a car for rent as well. The house is not on an isolated location: other Masia´s are visible but sufficiently far away not to interfere with your privacy but still give you the feeling you are not totally alone.  What we like about this house is its location in a beautiful area away from city noises but 5 cities reachable within 45 minutes to go for dinner, theatre or movies. The airports of Barcelona and Tarragona are both about 35 minutes away. We have bikes available for rent and can help you to organize your bicycle tour to the different wineries in the region.
