The Marvin Ranch is a model horse ranch. We specialize in Quarter Horses, Paints, Appaloosas, and weird or unknown colors, traits, horses, or breeds. If you were looking for a real horse site - sorry! but look around anyway. You will find that the model horse world is very similar to the real horse world. We breed, train and show our horses. If you are looking for the perfect stud for your foals - check out our s/d pages! If you are looking for information, photos or other fun stuff just check out the other pages! Hits since 1-1-03: About Us I received a subsrciption to Breyer's JAH for my birthday in 1997. When I found out how many wonderful horses just as realistic as Miller there were to buy I bought the cutting horse! The cutting horse was new in my first issue. Since it was a cow horse I named him Wrangler. My first mare was won at an auction in July 1997. Her name is Nutmeg. Soon, I got curious about the "Standing at Studs" ads in JAH. I contacted one of my friends in the hobby - a long time breeder - North Shore Stables. In October 1997 I pedigreed my first horse, Miller and established my ranch. I found a buckskin mare named Moon Wind and Wrangler became Miller's first foal. Moon Wind has proven herself in my performance stallions and has earned her place among my favorite model dams. Why the name Marvin Ranch?? Well, it was the name of the ranch in my favorite horse book, Mountain Pony. It's not a very fitting name and I have considered changing to Diamond A Ranch but it would defeat the purpose of my horse named Red Marvin. That's about it about my beginning. I am or have been a member of AQHA, BOFC, IPABRA, AMSHA and ECHMA at some time during my "career." I am currently attending school full time and I may be slow to complete breeding requests. Because I have moved to a dorm room, I am thinning my herd so be sure to check out the FOR SALE pages! Feel free to email me at marvinranch@hotmail.com with anything model horse or site-related. |
