The originial brick portion of this home was built in 1850. The framed, wood sided rear portion of the home was added soon after as we found letters in the ceiling dated 1897. We restored and renovated this home in 2006 and 2007. The home was totally updated with all the modern conveniences. We installed a 200 amp electrical service with all new wiring. We removed and replaced all the plumbing. We removed the existing forced air gas heat and duct work and installed all new ductwork and central air system with natural gas heat and air conditioning. We retained much of the historic charm of the home, leaving the original wide plank pine flooring in the foyer and office. All the windows in the home were replaced with energy efficient models that were identical to the original wood panes. The brick on the exterior of the home was repointed and repainted. The color was changed from red to a more attractive brown/tan color. On the framed portion of the home, we retained much of the original wood siding. Portions of the siding that were replaced were matched to the original siding to maintain the appearance. The roofing material on the home was removed and replaced with black 25 year architectural shingles. New guttering was added around the perimiter. The porch decking and railings were removed and replaced.
