Tunchy Help

Installing Tunchy

If you are installing from the full package, just unzip, run setup.exe and follow the instructions. (You might need to reboot for an update to take place. Once back, run setup.exe again).

If you are upgrading from a previous version, download the single EXE file and copy it to the original installation path, answer 'Yes' if it prompts you for overwriting.

There's a third option for installation. You can just copy Tunchy.exe to any directory you like and run it from there, but it won't work unless you have:

  • msvbvm60.dll (VB 6 runtime library) in your /system directory
  • msdxm.ocx (Media Player 6.4 control) properly installed and registered
  • mscomctl.ocx properly installed and registered

Uninstalling Tunchy

If you installed it from the Full Package (no matter how many times you upgraded it with the single EXE file), go to the Control Panel, double click Add/Remove Programs, then select Tunchy and click Remove.

Using Tunchy

Tunchy has 4 independent decks, each deck has its own playlist (next to the decks) and set of buttons and controls. Each deck's playlist is shown only when the corresponding deck is selected.

  • Selecting Decks

You can select a deck by clicking one of the 4 blueish numbered buttons, or by clicking anywhere on that deck's background frame. You can tell that a deck is selected because you see a circle in the right side of the deck, and that deck's button is pressed.

  • Finding Your Music

You can navigate your drives and directories searching for your music, with the included browser below the colored buttons.

  • Adding Tracks to the Playlists

Once you find the tracks you want to play, select them (drag over them, or click using SHIFT and CTRL like in Windows Explorer) and click the Add button, or use your right mouse button over them to send them to te active playlist. You can also add a complete folder by clicking the Add Folder button. Or you can add single tracks by double clicking on them.

  • Loading a Track to a Deck

The first track of the playlist will be automatically loaded to the deck. If you want to change a loaded track, select it on the playlist and then click your right mouse button. If you want to load the deck and play the track, double click on the track on the playlist.

  • Deleting Tracks

Deleting tracks from the playlists is done by selecting the tracks you want to delete and then clicking the Delete button, or you can also delete all the files in the list with the Delete All button.

  • Saving Playlists

You can save an active list to a .m3u file by clicking the Save List button. You'll have to choose the folder where you want to save it and type in the name of the destination file. Bear in mind that if that file already exists, it will be overwritten without asking.

  • Auto Focus

The Auto Focus feature is deactivated by default but it is very useful if you have a wheel mouse. When it is activated just move your mouse pointer over a slide control (like the volume control) or over a list control, and roll your wheel to scroll backwards and forwards.

Play around with Tunchy and you'll get a feeling of what you can do. Soon I'll add a FAQ and a "Tips & Tricks" section with useful information for all the Tunchy lovers around the world.
