Hi... and welcome to my little bit of the internet.......... here i will be logging my time and modifications to my latest project bike... a 2003 buell xb9's lightning.
First off some information about myself,i live in Birmingham England,im a mechanical technician by trade, currently employed in the railway industry........ive been into bikes since i was a little lad,and started riding when i was 17......... i raced motor cross for many years, which was a brilliant experience.... wish i was young enough to do it again....
My main interest in bikes is to modify them to suit my needs, and personalise them so that they stand out from the crowd........ my first real project was a 1999 Triumph Speedtriple, that i purchased as a 6 month old accident write off........i stripped the bike down and had the frame repaired and then polished the wheels, frame and steering yokes, added the triumph high level race pipe, modified the airbox for greater flow, fitted an aftermarket twin head lamp mini fairing, carbon swing arm protector, many anodised bits including renthal bars, and this bike was fantastic fun, very loud and very fruity exhaust note too, always turned heads for the couple of years that i owned it,and was really in retrospect the perfect bike for my needs
More pictures and information about the speedtriple can be found at www.pashnit.com/bikes/speedtriple-martins.htm

Next i quite liked the idea of a supermoto, these bikes were starting to take off here in the uk,mainly four stroke off road bikes converted to road use by fitting 17 inch wheels and bigger brakes.......... i actually ended up swapping the triumph for a 2001 Suzuki Drz400e..... which was the more powerfull enduro version,it already had many trick bits fitted, full fmf exhaust,talon/morad wheels,320mm braking wavey disc.... i rode around with it for about two weeks before i started to change parts of the bike.

I replaced the front caliper with a braking 4 pot item, added a brembo master cylinder, new seat and plastic graphics, ktm fork guards, fitted some alloy cfc case savers from america,to protect the thin magnesium crank cases, replaced the suspect auto cam chain tensioner with a manual item......on the right twisty roads it was a very fun bike to ride, with lots of low end power, but anything above 70-80mph became very tiring very quickly due to its very upright riding position......so i decided something else was needed to get my bike fix..... plus its another chance to start modyfying all over again ... more pictures and information about the drz can be found at www.pashnit.com/bikes/SuzukiDRZ-martins.htm
