The 2 main championships are over, the BEC and the GBXC. Myself Rheinalt and Matt have been contending for the BEC Expert Championship. It was right down to the wire, but Rheinallt eventually came off the winner winning day 1 of the Natterjack by 2 seconds from myself. Matt was having problems from a knee injury the week before at the WEC, so struggled abit but still managed to get 2 good results on both days of the natterjack. I was consistant all weekend and had good test times on both tests.
I decided not to take the risk on the wall as I didnt want to make any mistakes for the championship. Unfortunatly Rheinallt took the "wall route" and it payed off. He rode consistant all day on the Saturday. The 3rd mx test I was passing slower riders on the minute before me and one crashed his bike right the way across the track(the bike lay sideways), I went into the bike and had to wait for him to move the bike and get my bike started again. This definatly cost me the win on day 1, but thats how it goes sometimes.
Day 2 from the first test I either won or was 1 or 2 seconds down on the winner on each test. After the first two tests (without the wall in) I was around 15 seconds in the lead(setting the fastest enduro test time in the class), Rheinallt 2nd and Luke 3rd. This gave me some breathing space and I just rode really consistant for the rest of the day. Taking the win, Luke finishing in 2nd. Myself Matt and Rheinallt have been pushing each other all year at the BEC, Its been real good fun. It was a shame not to have Gav Houson in the title race with us.
