All Is Yoga

Mark was introduced to bodywork as a physical therapy assistant and delegated nurse for the severely disabled in 1994 where he went on to become a coordinator for the largest Non-Profit in Seattle and the Surrounding County.
The task of leading support teams facilitating independence and freedom to those previously limited to institutional living was a great learning experience.
Working toward ensuring dignity and quality of life for those in need allowed Mark to examine what this meant in his own life.

In 2000 he was introduced to Yoga and traditional Japanese ZaZen Meditation Practice in Seattle WA.
Soon afterwards relocating to Chicago, Mark delved deeper into the Yogic disciplines and community that the change in cities offered. Attending mediation Courses with the Venerable Samu Sunim at the Chicago Zen Buddhist temple and regularly attending Sunday meditation services while maintaining rigorous Martial arts and Yoga training brought Mark clarity in mind and body.

At this point Mark focused his energies on a performance career with credits including Cirque du Soleil, Lollapalooza, Red Moon Theater Chicago, and a running show in Las Vegas in 2003. Many dancers and artists have found Marks teaching compatible with their creative pursuits.

Mark Trained at Moksha Yoga center for 3 years before immersing himself in the yearlong Teaching Training program with Moksha Director Daren Friesen.
Marks Teacher Training included special classes with some of the most renowned teachers in Yoga today. Master teachers included Duncan Wong, Sean Corn, Shiva Rae, Anna Forest, DR Henele, Andre Lappa.

Training for the past 8 years with various mental, physical, and spiritual disciplines has fostered Mark's warrior spirit, nurturing qualities and a power to inspire others. The knowledge acquired studying some of the best Traditional methods as well as recent innovative practices have set the foundation for Marks intelligent and creative sequencing based on elements of Iyengar, Hatha, Vinyasa, Astanga, Forrest, and Universal freestyle.

Infused elements of the science of Ayurveda, Martial arts, Thai Massage, sound therapy, fire ritual, and Zen meditation are also experienced in his classes.

Mark continues to demonstrate his presence as one of the newest high impact instructors in the Chicago area. His consistent hard work has added enthusiasm and integrity to programs all over the city.
