Bio:

My name is Mark Kirley, I am 22 years old and I have been bass fishing for roughly half my life. I was born in Connecticut, graduated from Holy Cross High and currently attending Central Connecticut State University. My father and also my brother-in-law, David Mongrain, have been my primary source of encouragement and inspiration for the sport. They have taken me out on day trips and bass club meets since before I could drive. I won my first fishing trophy (Big Bass, Candlewood) a day before my SAT’s and have been hooked on competitive fishing ever since.

Now if I was asked the question "Why do you like fishing?" I would say, "I am a nerd. I like science. I can't do math to save my life, but I aced every natural science, biology and chemistry exam ever thrown at me." To me, fishing is just another science. You examine it, research it, you have variables, you run tests to see what works and what doesn't. You start with an idea and in one day you can have results. It’s the scientific method. It works when applied correctly. Need the definition, here look it up http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientific_method.

My goals are simply to have fun, learn more about the sport, apply it, and maybe take home a few more trophies in the future.
