I remembered to put the Red disk under the amber disk, and heres hoping that there will be no more 5am "episodes" AUGH! hahaa. Nothing happened this morning other then a few #1's, so I don't know if its working, but I'll find out soon. I've got a whole new plan of attack now. I figure once Chester is ok with the setup the way it is now, I'm going to give him a few extra days to be TOTALLY comfortable with it, and then I'm going to switch the Amber disk for the green one, and switch the red disk for the amber one! ta dahh!! or perhaps I should leave the red under the green for a few days, and then swipe it for the amber... hmmm.... No where near that point at all, but I love to plan. Any suggestions?Oh.... Also, my friends Jenny and Hello have created an amazing wonderful potty training forum on their site.! Definitely go and visit! It just started, but I know soon it will be totally awesome and amazing! http://myhellokitten.webs.com/discussionforum.htm
Well... I certainly was NOT happy this morning. Chester usually does his #2's about every 24 hours. Usually they're a little later every day, so we're on a rotation of sorts, (Yes, I'm weird for knowing this but thats Kitty Toilet Training for you!). Anyways, he woke me up at 5am this morning, and since he had that urgent edge to his meow I knew something was wrong. Didn't occur to me at all he might have to do a #2. He started his normal routine of scratching the tile in the bathroom, and I tried to coax him up onto the toilet seat on his own. Then he totally FREAKED out!! It was completely bizarre, he just started buzzing all around the house, jumped up on the couch, started scratching there, I followed him, and he just ran away from me, tried to do it behind a chair, and then finally ran far enough to make a nice wet soggy pile on my bedroom carpet. ARGG. I managed to scoop him up for the final bit and only ended up creating a #2 trail all the way to to bathroom. Let me tell you, this was NOT a pleasant way to start the day. Back to the red tray underneath, and hopefully that will help things. Also, I've decided no pumpkin. The mess this morning was gross enough, I wouldn't want to have to clean up anything "looser". On the bright side of things. Chester still does a wonderful #1. They're usually straight through the hole into the toilet, and hes got 3 paws on the seat with the 4th not too far behind. I took a picture yesterday, but totally forgot to upload it.
Ok... my days are a bit messed up, not too sure where I miscounted or lost a day or whatever, but we are for sure on day 24!Chester is doing GREAT at using the LK for his #1's, but I have to say super poorly for #2's. He actually will hold it until I'm around, and then starts this terrible sounding meowing, and scratches the floor. He knows the "up" command, and always jumps onto the LK on commang, except for when he's got to go #2. I did as Jenny suggested, (sorry Jenny I'd put a link in here but I haven't got a CLUE) and gave him a step to get up to the toilet in case he was just uncomfortable, but, that didn't make any difference at all. Now usually when he starts his little rant I can just pick him up and he'll do his #2. This morning however, it was a MASSIVE fight between us to get him to stay up there! He kept on jumping off!!! I've been keeping the LK super clean in hopes that might help, but guess not. I suppose I'm going to have to put the red disk back underneath again, and hope that helps things a little. Now, a lot of people have suggested pumpkin, but his #2's are pretty loose as is already, and I'm afraid of giving him a case of the runs if I introduce pumpkin. Maybe just half a spoonful?I'll keep everyone posted on success of backtracking to the amber underneath. I'm also going to keep it filled with water so that he can maybe get used to that. I'm thinking of trying to maybe lower the water in my toilet bowl? Its just such a pain to share the toilet at that moment, but... we will prevail!!!! :)
