On the recommendation of my medical Doctor, I purchased a cooling vest. This vest has pockets in which you place frozen gel packs. You wear the vest, and it cools the core temperature of your body.
Since getting this vest, if I wear it for an hour or so, my strength is increased. So when I walk, I'm able to walk twice the length that I normally do and I even bend my right leg slightly, lifting the leg off the floor.
There are cooling vests that I can buy that use water flowing threw tubes. They're more comfortable to wear, but unfortunately, much more expensive. I will save towards buying one.
We have not made any decisions regarding another trip to China.
I am sorry the blog is a day late, but yesterday was a busy day. And a moment to type the blog could not be found.
Research has begun........another trip to China? Have the results I have seen enough to warrant another trip? Do the results get more pronounced with each set of stem cells? So many people go for repeated trips.....and just as many you never hear from again. I will email the doctor and hopefully get contact info for those who have gone repeatedly, as well as those who haven't.
The amount of funds required is the only thing holding me back. Fund raising is a possibility, we will see.
I have been feeling pretty good, and maintaining my strength level.
We are preparing for a trip out west, and it will be a whirlwind. Nine cities in 28 days! If I survive that it will definitely speak to my endurance. 2 more blogs and then I will be on the road.
I have been remiss on getting this blog typed. Shame on me!
It has pretty much been same old.......I made a promise that I would not fall off the face of the earth and I would say it appears that I almost did, but some of you called me back, and here I am!
I went on medication to clear up a bladder infection and learned that my body DOES NOT like medications! Another setback to my fight to get well. The medicine really did me in! My strength all but left me. Luckiily I have an excellent GP. One phone call and off the meds. We are battling the infection with pure cranberry juice. It will take longer to clear up, but it should do the trick.
One thing I have tried doing is squats.....or knee bends. I believe it will really build up my leg muscles. This was before the meds and I will start again now that my strength is coming back. This morning I could shower unassisted, so the strength is coming back. WOO HOO
I will let you all know that we are going away for the month of October, and with computer access iffy the blogs may be intermittent. I will do my best.
