The Mardi Gras in May main event will occur on Sunday, May 18th 2008 from 2:00 pm until 7:00pm. We will be holding the event at the North Oldham Lions Club on Hwy. 42 in Goshen, Kentucky.
This will be a family event with activities for adults and kids. Events will include: Plenty of food (we left out the 'mudbugs' or 'crawdads' so the kids don't run away) 
, and lots of Tall "Hurricanes" to drink (sorry...No alcohol). Like any Mardi Gras event, we will have plenty of Music......including one of Louisville's most sought after bands, The Names! Activities will include Lots of Games, "Street Musicians", Climbing Wall, Face Painting, Live Entertainment, Bands, Jesters, Caricatures, and lots more. We will also have a "Kid's Corner" which will be supervised and provide age appropriate activities such as Mardi Gras Mask Making, Instrument Making, and "Story Time" to teach the little ones all about the history of Mardi Gras.
There will be a $1.00 entry fee. All other activities and purchases will be on a ticket system.
Any & all profits will go to the North Oldham Band Boosters for the improvement of the North Oldham High School Bands. To stay in the spirit of the New Orleans Mardi Gras, a portion of the proceedes will be donated to assist with the rebuilding of the Band Programs in New Orleans public schools. Many of the New Orleans' schools lost all of their music, instruments and Marching Band uniforms to Hurricane Katrina and are still trying to rebuild. We will also be collecting instruments to send to New Orleans. We currently have over 60 instruments and are trying to hit 100!!
