YVONNE MARSH 1932 - 2017

We are sad to announce the death of Yvonne Marsh.  Yvonne was best known to Perry & Croft fans as Madge Cartwright in all four series of You Rang, M'Lord?

In addition to this she was for many years a back ground artist on Hi-de-Hi!  Yvonne became a child star in the late 1940s primarily in Lewis Gilbert's first movie The Little Ballerina.  She went on to have an enviable career in theatre,  as a variety artist and most successfully as one of the most sought after principal boys in pantomime.

Our condolences go out to her family and friends at this sad time.

BARRY HOWARD 1937 - 2016

We are very sad to report that Barry Howard has passed away today (28th April).  Barry was a stalwart members of the original Hi-de-Hi! cast and his exquisite ballroom dancer Barry Stuart- Hargreaves stayed with the show until 1986.  His waspish asides in tandem with his screen wife Diane Holland, were one of the great joys of Hi-de-Hi!  Aside from his most famous role,  Barry was an actor of great experience particularly in the field of pantomime where he become known as one of Britain's greatest pantomime Dames. For many years he and John Inman would play Ugly Sisters together before both artists went solo. Following Hi-de-Hi! Barry returned to the stage in pantomime and also regularly as Jacob Marley opposite Anthony Newley and Tommy Steele in the musical Scrooge.  He also appeared in episodes of You Rang, M'Lord? and Doctor Who.  Barry returned to his ballroom dancer role for a stage tour of Hi-de-Hi! in 2010.

Our deepest sympathies go out to Barry's family and friends at this sad time.
