2005 TEAM PARENTS

Each team has a Team Parent! Team Parents help assist team coaches. Duties will vary from coach to coach, but the most important job will be providing communication to other parents. This includes organizing parent volunteers for game days and planning the end of the season party.

In the event you have a concern regarding the MVJF&C program or a member of the MVJF&C coaching staff, we ask that you first address your concern to your child’s coach. If you feel the matter needs attention from a MVJF&C Board Member, please contact our Athletic Director(s) listed below and they will be happy to assist you.

Athletic Director . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Rick LaHaye

Assistant Athletic Director . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Open Position

RULES

  • NO smoking, use of tobacco, alcohol or drugs on school grounds or at any function for MVJF&C. You must go to the road if you choose to smoke.

  • NO abusive language or physical abuse is allowed.

  • Keep children off the goal posts, out of the trees, or from behind the container. Children not participating in the program should NOT be left unattended.

  • Each child is responsible for the care and up keep of their equipment. If your child’s equipment is lost, stolen, or damaged, you will be held financially responsible for replacing the item at the current replacement cost.

  • Child Drop-off & Pick-Up; for the safety of all children, please drop off your child in a safe parking lot and away from busy streets. Your children need to be picked-up promptly every night after practice.

MISSION STATEMENT

Maple Valley Junior Football and Cheer Association is dedicated to provide the guidance, organizational and facility resources to further positive social and physical development and conditioning of youth through an organized program of athletics for boys and girls. To develop in these youth the highest moral and ethical standards and good sportsmanship, which will;

DEVELOP SELF-CONFIDENCE AND SELF-RESPECT.

GROW AS CITIZENS OF THEIR COMMUNITIES AND AS RESPONSIBLE MEMBERS OF THEIR FAMILIES.

REALIZE THAT PHYSICAL FITNESS AND WELL BEING ARE CONDITIONS TO BE ACHIEVED AND MAINTAINED.

and

AID IN WHATEVER MEASURES POSSIBLE, THE DEVELOPMENT OF THEIR CAPACITIES, FOR LEADERSHIP AND FOR A RESPONSIBLE USE OF SUCH CAPACITIES IN THEIR COMMUNITIES.

As Board Members and Coaches, this statement is a reminder to all what we can achieve together for the good of those we are trying to guide through life . . . .

EQUIPMENT RESPONSIBILITY

Uniform and equipment must be properly taken care of during the season. Each parent was required to sign an "equipment use agreement" at uniform hand out.

Please take the time to review and discuss the responsibilities with your child in the proper care of this equipment. Each child must understand the importance of safety and responsibility for all equipment items. If you feel that any of the equipment does not fit properly or the condition is not good, just stop by the container and we will take care of it for you!

Each item that is assigned to your child needs to be in good condition for the next season. With everyone’s help, we can continue to provide the best quality possible, for a reasonable price.

WEEKLY FLYERS

Every week we will pass out a flyer and post information on our website. This information pertains to upcoming events. www.freewebs.com/maplevalleyraiders

This year we are going to be including maps, as well as specific information regarding the week’s upcoming games.

The flyers are the best way we can communicate with you. Updates and changes to games or events will be provided as will special notes from coaches and the Board.

If you do not get a flyer during the week and you are not able to logon to our website, please stop by the concession stand and get an update from our bulletin board.

NOVEMBER PARENT MEETING

In November, 2005 we will hold a very important general meeting for all the parents and participants of Maple Valley Junior Football & Cheer. This meeting is to recognize all the volunteers, parents, and children that helped make it all happen. This is also the time we elect the 2006 Board Members.

Please consider becoming a Board Member for next year! It is a very rewarding job and you will help keep the MVJF&C going strong. For the positions available and what is involved in holding any of these positions, please visit our website or speak with any of our 2005 Board Members.

6th Annual Dinner & Silent Auction Fundraiser

This year, Maple Valley Junior Football and Cheer Association will continue a very successful tradition and fun event. The date of this family event has not been set because the details are still in the works. We do know there will be plenty of food, raffles, prizes, goodies to bid on. We will be sending out more information as the season progresses.

Keep an eye out for information about the "Team Baskets" that we will be putting together for the Silent Auction and raising funds for our program.

Concession Stand

We will have a complete concession stand available at all of our practices and home games. There is a variety of drinks and snacks to choose from. We even have hot food to help out with dinner for the nights that are a little crazy. The prices are very reasonable.

A concession tab is allowed and must be PRE-PAID, no negative balances will be allowed.

PLEASE NOTE: Tabs can not be used on game days.

Any balances left on your child’s tab will be donated to the MVJF&C Association.

HOME GAMES

When MVJF&C has a home game, we would like to be considered the best host in the League! In order to meet that goal, we need help from all parents. Your Team Mom will be asking you to donate your time to give us a hand. All of the children in this program appreciate your contribution and want to thank you in advance for making our home games a success. Talk with your Team Parent and sign-up early to guarantee the game of your choice!

ALWAYS LET YOUR COACH OR TEAM PARENT KNOW IN ADVANCE IF YOU CAN NOT MAKE IT TO A GAME.

Football Players; need to be on the field as designated by their coaches, (usually 1 hour before game), for weigh-ins and warm-ups.

Cheerleaders; need to be on the field 30 minutes before game time for warm-ups.
