We are constantly in need of volunteers to give up their time to love care for and help our dogs. We welcome all volunteers although children need to be accompanied by an adult. However, please note, we are dedicated in our work and expect the same level of love and commitment from our volunteers. |

We were lucky enough to recieve some "Ocean Bites" via Burns dog food. These have helped amazingly with the dogs with really bad skin. Burns are local to us and deliver straight to our door. You can help the animals at Many Tears to find new homes by advertising the website. One of the easiest ways to do this is via car stickers. If you would like to help to advertise Many Tears and to help us raise funds, please buy a car sticker from our Ebay shop.
One of our wonderful supporters, fund raiser and dog adopter, Deborah Balchin, has had a set of greeting cards printed for Many Tears at her own expense. Hard to find and lucky to have....
Perhaps you would like to help, but cannot take on a dog, or already have too many to take on another. In this case, you may like to pay for a dog to be saved. Your money would pay for all necessary inoculations, the spaying or neutering of the dog and new lead and collar.
You would receive a picture of the dog you saved along with his or her history. Many people choose to do this as a present for a friend or family. In the past, classes of schools, office workers, and various other groups of people have clubbed together and donated to the "buy a life" fund. The cost to "Buy a Life" is £125, a lot of money, but very little to save a life!
We would need to know the name and address you would wish for your "Buy a Life" picture and information to be sent to, along with a cheque made payable to Many Tears Animal Rescue.
Up here in Wales there are a lot of stray and unwanted dogs in the pounds every day. This is actually a fact all over the UK. Rescues try to prevent these dogs dying when their times is up by taking them in and re-homing them. This is a very hard job, especially with dog who bite always getting top billing by the press. The pounds and councils do not want to kill dogs, but strangely, and certainly the ones up here, do little to help. I am hoping you all could write a letter either to the Welsh Council or, your local council, and suggest:
I feel with more knowledge rescues would be more likely to take the rotties, staffs and those who act strangely in kennels who are always left behind. The rescue would be able to add the notes from the pound to their own and the public would be keener to adopt a dog if they had some history.
Often dogs come to us from the pound have shown signs of aggression whilst in there. We give them a chance and they turn out to be the sweetest dogs ever but were just freaked out by being taken in a van with no familiar faces etc. to a pound or sometimes by their owners and simply left there, These dogs are the ones we pick up because others have passed them by. If the finder or owner had answered a questionnaire and said the dog was affectionate and trusting, rescues would know the poor dog was just freaked because they were in the pound.
I am hoping you will all ask a council to help a little, as a resuce's job is already so hard. This has been asked in the past but ignored. Please write or email to all you can, You are the voice of the voiceless so if you care, please write letters to the councils and yes even the kennel club. Good luck, your luck will be the dogs luck too!
