The 2006 FoMMF Nomic (Season 1) is now defunct. It lived from 14th March 2005 to 26th April, when it died due to everything just getting a bit much. The winners were Manyhills, Bubble, Stephi, midgetmogget, chengy and CRG. The source code is commented out right at the bottom of the page.
However, we should, perhaps, rejoce at this death, as it allows the infinitely better PRUNENOMIC to arrive!
(Yay!)
Rule 1: Manyhills is the PruneNomic Admin, so there.
Rule 2: The process of adding, repealing or amending a rule shall be carried out thus:
Rule 3: Each player will be given two numbers by the PruneNomic Admin by PM. The first of these is the attack number; the second is the defense number. As such, the only people who will know a's numbers are the PruneNomic Admin and a.
Rule 4: A player, in a post, may declare an attack on any other player, of any amount. This number is deducted from both their attack number and the opponent's defence number, and the update will be sent by PM.
Rule 5: Any player with a negative defence number is excluded from the game. This announcement will be made by the PruneNomic Admin.
Rule 6: The last remaining player is the winner.
Rule 8:
"The Overkill Rule"
If a player is left with -25 or fewer defence points after an attack, their defence number is reset to 150.
Rule 10:
"Proclaimations"
A Proclamation can be made. A Proclamation takes only 3 votes to pass, rather than the usual 5; however, an Proclamation cannot amend the rules. Rather, a Proclamation states which types of proposals will get bonus points.
Proclamations are proposed in the same way as proposals.
Rule 11:
"Truths"
Truths can also be proposed in the normal way. Truths are passed after 5 votes, and become True for all purposes of PruneNomic. Anyone doubting a Truth is fined 25 defence points.
Rule 12:
"The Cancel Rule"
1. A proposal that has received two or fewer votes can be cancelled by the original proposer.
2. If one wishes to cancel a proposal that has received more votes than that, one must seek the consent of all voters before cancelling; if consent is given, the proposal can be cancelled.
3. Anyone trying to withdraw a proposal that has received too many votes without gaining consent first loses 26 attack points and 26 defence points.
Proclaimation 1: That any proposal submitted that fits the form of a haiku nets the proposer an additional 25 attack points.
These dictums are recorded here as passed from the people inhabiting PruneNomic. Accept them, or face the consequences.
As at end of reply #190.
