Mann Hann was derived from an ancient Chinese legend that the owners love to tell their children. The romance involved Mann or Manchurian and a descendant from an old Han Dynasty and how the emperor's opulence showed when entertaining foreign dignitaries by ordering “Mann Hann” Menu which consist of 200 delectable varieties. These feasts usually took them weeks to consume. Nobody knows for sure how the story ended but somehow synonymous with authentic Chinese Cuisine
BRIEF HISTORY
In September 1994, Mann Hann (Foods) along Mabini St, in San Juan was registered under the proprietorship of Ms. Diane C. Ledesma. It all started with a small business of sisters Diane Chua-Ledesma and Dorothy Chua-Ong, selling imported grocery products, the sisters recalled how their parents Piao-a and Juane love to cook for families and friends that inspired them to cook special Chinese dish for take out. Eventually, it became an instant hit with food enthusiasts and opportunities came along the way to put up the very first MANN HANN Restaurant in Greenhills, Wilson St., San Juan in July 1995. The business is now registered under the corporation of the Chua Family.
“GREAT FOOD, but NO PARKING” This was the first criticism ever! Occupying a space without parking was not a hindrance of success. Surprisingly, several articles of appreciations with free advertisements from leading newspapers and magazines came out to circulation that gave no reason to make way to a decision for expansion.
In June 1996 and May 1998, two branches opened along Libis, Q.C. and Jupiter St., Makati,. We were amazed how food lovers would patiently fall in line and wait just to get a table.
Our first opportunity of doing business at the malls all started in December of 1998 . Several mall space and franchising offers were received. To maintain good food quality , reasonable price, imported high standard equipments, smart and courteous attendants with efficient service and good ambiance, only selective offers were accepted. The management concern is but only customer satisfaction. This may be the reason why Mann Hann was the 9th among the top ten restaurants in 1999.
