FELLOWSHIP ON SEPTEMBER 26, 2009
AUGUST 26, 2009 - After the mid week services yesterday our new set of leaders buckled down to work and had their first business meeting. The agenda of the said meeting was the hosting of the Pangasinan-speaking, and the proper decorum during worship services. It was agreed that the fellowship will be held on September 26, 2009 with Deacons Adriatico and Ricardo in charge of the food while Deacons Rene and Brumildo in charge of the accommodations. It was unanimously agreed that the theme will be “PROPER AND RIGHTEOUS GIVING”. This theme will be elaborated further by at least two preachers who will invited to discuss the topics, “WHAT CAN I CONTRIBUTE TO THE CHURCH SINCE I AM ONLY AN ORDINARY MEMBER?” and “WHAT CAN I EXPECT IF I AM A LIBERAL GIVER?” There was a concern that these topics/questions are not biblical, but it was pointed out that these questions are the ones really being asked by an average member.
NEW OPPORTUNITY FOR BIBLE STUDY
AUGUST 24, 2009. Around Fifty(50) High School students and out-of-school youths have signified their intention to join our weekly Bible Studies at Barangay Alitaya, Mangaldan, Pangasinan. This is a great and a rare opportunity for us to further the cause of the Lord as we've noticed in the last few years that interest in Bible Studies among people in all walks of life is dwindling. These students are in addition to our regular attendees during these cottage meetings. We therefore thank the Lord for this opportunity and at the same time ask everybody to cooperate in this endeavor as it will surely give smile to our loving Father who is in heaven.
ELDERS AND DEACONS APPOINTED
August 16, 2009 - After about a year of studying the qualifications, duties, and responsibilities of elders and deacons, the Mangaldan church of Christ finally ordained two elders and four deacons. The ordination ceremony was held immediately after the morning worship last Sunday, August 16, 2009. Two evangelists from the neighboring provinces were invited to speak during the occasion. CHAPEL RENOVATION COMPLETED
August 15, 2009 - Finally the renovation of the chapel where the Mangaldan church meets was completed. It was started way back in March 2009 when the wooden truss of the roofing was replaced with steel trusses and the roof was changed with pre-painted sheets. After the roofing renovation was finished, the electrical connections were likewise upgraded to accommodate higher electrical requirement of the worship hall. Read more >>>
The Church Building Renovated
May 6, 2009 - The church building underwent some renovations particularly on the roof and ceiling. The ceiling was raised several feet to make the worship hall look more spacious. The roof and its supporting beams were also replaced with steel beams. This is to make it more sturdy against storms and strong winds.
