Mandy was born on April 10, 1984 to Don and Stacy Moore. Mandy knew she wanted be a singer.So she wanted to perform.In Orlando Florida mandy started going to musical theater camps at the age of 9. She did stage performances. She song some sporting events and she was called National Anthem Girl.

 

Mandy was discovered at the age of 14 by a employee who worked for Fed Ex, who over heard her singing in a recording studio. So the head of the A&R of Epic Records which is a friend of the Fed Ex employee, wanted to record a demo with her. Mandy knew she was there at the right place at the right time. So she was then signed to a record deal with a label,(Sony/550 music/epic records).

 

Mandy Released her first debut cd single Candy at the age of 15 in 1999, following her album So Real,released on December 7, 1999(#31 on the billboard charts.  Her So Real album went platinum selling over 1 million copies. In 1999 Mandy went on tour with N'sync and the Backsreet Boys.

 

In the year 2000 at the age of (16) she realesed a special edition cd called I Wanna Be With You. Which reached #21 on the billboard charts. featuring songs off the album So Real, remixes  and five new songs. Mandy had her own self-titled show on MTV in the summer of 2000.Mandy became a neutrogena spokesperson also.

 

In 2001 Mandy released her second studio album Mandy Moore  #35 on the billboard charts,  featuring songs like In My Pocket, Saturate Me, Cry and Crush. The album was more successful in Asia than in the United States.Mandy  started playing in roles, like The Princess Diaries, A walk To Remember, How To Deal  Saved, American Dreams, Cahsing Liberty and Because I Said So. Mandy Played an voice character in the animated movie sunh as Dr.Dolittle2 where she did the voice of a bear cub and Brother Bear 2. She also played a voice character in Racing Stripes.

 

In 2003 Mandy wanted to do something different with her next album called Coverage.(#14 billboard) Coverage has songs with some classic pop/rock 70's and 80's music from artists such as Elton John, Todd Rundgren, and Carly Simon and some others. Three of her albums went platinum. This was Mandy's first album in the top 20 on the billboard charts todate. But it was said that Mandy was Dropped from Sony's Epic Records because of Coverage album low sales. Selling only 291,000, the album couldn't be certified.

 

In 2004 Sony's Epic records released an complication album The Best Of Mandy Moore(#148 on the billboard charts)for a final obligation of Mandy Contract. This album also fail to low sales, selling over 91,000 copies. Because Mandy wasn't happy with her last previous albums, The compliation album didn't received any promotion or paticipation From Mandy.

 

Sony music released another compliation on April 19, 2005 called Candy.Which was the last to be released by Epic Records. Which is another one of her greatest hits cd, featuring songs that was never played on radio except for Candy and I Wanna Be With You. This also didn't recieved any promotion form Mandy. This was the only cd of Mandy's that was never charted on the Billboard charts. At the time Mandy was recording a demo called ''Hey'' and ''Beautiful Man'' which was posted on her myspace.

 

Mandy wanted to do something different with her music,something better than her last previous albums,and she wanted her music career back after leaving Sony/Epic Records. She wasn't happy with the music she done in the past. After her contract ended with Epic Records she signed to Sire Records, but she didn't have any cntrol over her music so she left in May of 2006. Then  signed to The Firm Music/EMI,where the first time Mandy had actually have co-written her own songs for her entire album and also with other artists.

 

Sense her last studio album Coverage, Mandy's music has went to a different level. the sound is more mature sense Mandy is now alot older. Went from Bubblegum pop/Pop to Pop and Folk pop/rock.She has spent alot time working on her new album ''Wild Hope''.(#30 on the Billboard charts) She recorded this album in New York around a mountain view. Which featured the first single ''Extraordinary''. The album was released June 19 2007. Mandy is also starting in a movie role with Robin Williams called ''License To Wed'' out July 3, 2007. Her next films Southland Tales and Dedication will also be out this year.

 

Mandy Moore had a successful career starting at the age of 14. With her albums being certified Gold and Platinum. Reaching the top 40 & top 20 on the Billboard Charts.She has done many things out of her career. She's not only a singer and actress, she's also a clothing disgner and now a songwriter. She always continues to make it better.
