Indian Men’s Movement was started by R.P.Chugh [Advocate Supreme Court of India] in the form of MEN CELL in the early 80’s, in response to the anti dowry legislations passed by the parliament & gross misuse of these provisions, MEN CELL is now a known phenomenon all over the world, and every tortured husband or family member is a member.
Pramod Gupta, an engineer and author of Sarvajanik Chunauti from Gorakhpur remarked Chugh as the 1st Maseeha of tortured husbands”

Man Cell also known as Akhil Bhartiya Patni Atyachar Virodhi Morcha, SPCH – Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Husbands, & CAM – Crime Against Man, has a sister organization named Mahila Raksha Samiti which is “the first of its kind in the world, an organisation of women [from husband’s family] falsely implicated in frivolous dowry cases by their daughter-in-laws, sister-in-laws etc.

MAN CELL campaigns against the anti dowry legislations (498-A, 406, 304-B IPC) and the Domestic Violence Act, as these laws are highly biased, and violative of basic human rights of equality before law.

MAN CELL stages regular protests on Human Rights Day & Women's Day and has started observing the Mens Day.
