Crops-Bulbs & Lilies

Forcing Bulbs
Force bulbs (tulips, daffodils, hyacinths, etc.) as a good companion crop to sell with Easter lilies. Buy precooled bulbs for ease of handling.

  • Growing Easter Lilies
Easter lilies can be an interesting crop to grow in the greenhouse. Follow the schedule closely. Easter lilies have a very short life of the flowers, so you need to be on schedule. Also note that Easter is a different date each year. Check your calendar and adjust your schedule accordingly. The secret to Easter Lilies is to buy the largest bulb you can buy. I would buy bulbs that barely fit in a 6" pot, but they would produce a plant with seven large blooms. They would rival any florist's plants.
