Welcome to the 2008-2009 school year! I always have a lot planned for my students, and I look forward to keeping in touch with you about the progress of your child in my classroom. I will keep this web site updated with what we are doing so you can check to see what we're up to anytime. Also, your child willl periodically bring home their science notebook for you to see. There will be science notes, drawings, and corrected assignments in their notebook, so it will give you a good idea of what your child is learning and supposed to know. Your child can bring their science notebook home any time, as long as it is in class the next day.
Some things that will be important to be successful in science are:
1. A desire to learn and a curiosity about the world around us.
2. A student that has rested good the night before and eats healthy at meal time (not too much sugars or fats)
3. A 1 inch binder that will be used for a science notebook.
Other things that will be helpful in science are:
1. Colored pencils
2. A metric ruler
3. A 3 hole punch (to put papers in science notebook)
4. A pair of scissors
5. A water bottle with water (to keep from being late to class from waiting in line at the drinking fountain)
If you have any questions, please feel free to call me at school, 378-1300, or e-mail me at: mamorga@zeus.kern.org.
Thank you!
Mrs. Morgan
