About 20 million trees are being cut down EVERY YEAR to produce the books sold in the US alone.
Eco-Libris is an organization dedicated to doing something about it by empowering people to plant a tree for every book they read in an easy and affordable way.
How can you join in?
It goes like this:
1. Enter their website at:
http://www.ecolibris.net/
2. Choose how many books you would like to balance out... let's say five books.
3. Now comes their part: they work with non-profit organizations to plant five trees for you in developing countries. They also send you five stickers you can post on your books' sleeves or inside jacket to display your commitment to the environment.
Pretty simple, eh? They think so too :)
They are just starting out so your help is appreciated. Log in, plant some trees, buy stickers for friends who would appreciate it, and let them know what you think about it all.
