For reasons beyond our control, we had to focus on the other aspects of the organisation and have been unable to update the tournament website. We apologise for this.
However, notwithstanding this, progress continued to be made. By the closing date of Monday 14 March 2004, 62 players will be taking part as follows:

04/02/05 Change in Venue
The Organising Committee is pleased to confirm a change in venue for the 2nd GASANMAMO MALTA INTERNATIONAL OPEN 2005 and the 2nd MALTA GRAND PRIX 2005.
These will be held at the SAVIO COLLEGE SPORTS COMPLEX in Dingli. This is the same venue which was used for the 1st GASANMAMO MALTA INTERNATIONAL OPEN 2004 and the 1st FUJIFILM MALTA GRAND PRIX 2004.
We are sure that this choice of venue will ensure a high calibre week-end of events on 20 and 21 March 2005.
03/02/05 Big Interest from overseas
We are happy to report that considerable interest has been received from top international players to participate in the 2nd GASANMAMO MALTA INTERNATIONAL OPEN 2005 and the 2nd MALTA GRAND PRIX 2005 being held on 19 and 20 March 2005.
Hansel Mallia, member of the organising committee, reports from Elboeuf, France, that he was approached by a number of top players who took part in the London International Open on 29 and 30 January 2005. He confirmed that the following players are actively considering their participation in the 2nd GASANMAMO MALTA INTERNATIONAL OPEN 2005 and the 2nd MALTA GRAND PRIX 2005 .

03/02/05 International Open sponsorship
The organising committee has managed to secure the sponsorship for the 2nd Malta International Open 2005: we are pleased to announce that, as last year, the 2nd Malta International Open 2005 is being sponsored by GasanMamo Insurance Ltd. The organising committee is currently actively seeking a sponsor for the 2nd Malta Grand Prix 2005.
