Not at all. Ever since 1999, I have been making a full time living online from my own internet home business. I know exactly how it feels to "sack the boss". And I remember well how it all started.
It was in early 1997 when I first got online. And at that time, I can remember saying to myself, "If I could come up with a way to start an internet business and sell a product or service to people world wide, then I could literally create a global business from my own home!" I was totally excited by the opportunity the internet presented - and from that day on, I dedicated myself to finding out exactly how to do it - how to start a home business online.
It became an obsession. I tried everything. At first I was sucked into various internet "opportunities" - only to discover I'd wasted my time and money. But I wasn't put off. And most importantly of all, tapping into the knowledge of those who were already successful at internet business.
It didn't take long before I discovered the power of the internet for myself. I had begun publishing a free online newsletter. And over a period of a year, I built up the subscriber base to over 5000 people. Then one day I decided to send a special promotional message to all of them - offering a membership to a new information service I had started. Well, I was staggered by what happened next.
Within 10 days of that offer being sent out, I had taken in over US$20,000. I was blown away. And at that very moment, I realised I had a tiger by the tail. I had learned, firsthand, just how powerful the internet could be. All I needed to do now was learn more about how to fully tap into this online business potential - and start an internet business of my own. You could say I had been bitten by the online business bug!
From there I went on to build my first internet business (an information service) - one that earned me in excess of US$6,000 per month from subscription fees. I did this largely by trial and error, building on what worked, and ditching what didn't.
Ever since then, I have been convinced that any motivated person can start an internet business from home. And more than that, such an online business offers a way to achieve a unique and desirable lifestyle. A life of true freedom - time freedom, financial freedom, travel freedom and family freedom.
