Every May we hold the annual Johnny Kipps race for the coveted biscuit tin. Traditionally this race is for members although non members are welcome to participate. An interesting feature added in 2007 gave runners the option to complete the course in a clockwise or anticlockwise direction.
On the second Saturday evening in August we organise a 10k race, the Maiden “Newten” Madness, which is well supported by local clubs with a route following quiet country lanes and a short off road section which usually provides some mud despite being a summer fixture.
In the last couple of years we have entered a team in the locally organised Parrett Trail and Wessex Ridgeway relay events, both races providing a great day out and for the first time in 2007 a team represented the club at the Clarendon Way Marathon.
So whether you’re a serious runner, a social runner or not really much of a runner at all, come along and you won’t feel out of place.
