This is my third album and my second electro-spacey sounding one. Whereas Orbits had more of a dance feel to it, this one tried to set the mould for my future style. I was by now experimenting with different sounds and able to explore the full palette of sound available to me. This is a much rounder, fuller sounding album, with many themes running through it. Astra 6 is my personal favourite because of its use of bells and that ‘special’ Magician sound. Up to this point I had never thought of tubular bells as a viable instrument, but would go on to feature it in many of my future great works.
