NEW - Appearances

Special thanks to all of the wonderful people of British Columbia who welcomed me with open arms, and allowed me to share the World Vision message.  Thanks to their kindness and generosity, I have raised enough money to build a house in Africa for an underpriviliged family!

Through my work with World Vision

I have also found sponsors for

19 children sponsored in Costa Rica.

Thank-you everyone for your kindness and generosity

Together we WILL make a difference

One of the very best ways to help a child break the bonds of poverty is through World Vision's child sponsorship progam.  When you sponsor a child, you'll join over 435,000 Canadians including celebrities like Alex Trebek (Jeopardy) and Megan Follows (Anne of Green Gables).

With funds from child sponsors and donors, World Vision provides emergency food, medical care, agricultural assistance and a plan for long-term development.  World Vision is one of our country's largest charities, supporting work in almost 100 countries.  Today there are more than 2.2 million children sponsored, whose lives are changing forever.

As a World Vision volunteer, I am working to find sponsors for underpriviliged children in Costa Rica, the country where I will be representing Canada at the 2007 Miss Teen International Pageant

Every child, family and community has special needs - together, let's help make a difference!

MY MOTTO

"To every day do something that

will inch us closer to a better tomorrow!”

Every year millions of people die needlessly from starvation and malnutrition in third world countries. Children are without access to safe drinking water, adequate sanitation, and basic education. I believe that we all deserve to live the best life possible, that is why I have chosen to help poverty stricken children in third world countries throughout my reign as Miss Teen International Canada, as well as throughout the rest of my life.

As Miss Teen International Canada, I feel that I’m an excellent ambassador and role model to the youth of our province, as well as our country. Educating the public on this issue is my mission and I will be doing all that I can to help out.

Right now I am an active member of World Vision. Not only am I helping to get as many children sponsored as I can,  I am also working on fundraising for toys and school supplies to bring to the much needed children in Costa Rica, when I travel there next October. I am also co-ordinating an Operation Christmas Child project in my local area. I feel very passionate about this cause because it helps bring joy to numerous war and famine victims, who haven’t necessarily had a Christmas before.

In the future, I hope to go on a mission trip to a third world country to see first hand how the work of World Vision and other humanitarian organizations are helping to make a difference in the lives of children.
