EMLYN 6 a SIDE

Maesglas had a good work out at the annual six a side tournament at Newcastle Emlyn where two defensive errors against a good Briton Ferry side cost the Blues a final spot, overall it had been a good day apart from the weather where it had poured down for most of the afternoon.The Blues comfortably coming through the group stages against Bargod 2-0, newly promoted to the Costcutter League Division 1 Llandysul 4-0 and a battling Emlyn 3rd team 2-1. Maesglas had new signing 16 year old Rhys Davies on show in his 1st senior tournament and he came through with flying colours, also manager Paul Hope will have his fingers crossed that Phil Furney and Dai Cole return to the Blues for the season ahead. The squad was keeper Rhodri Jones, Huw Meredith, Llifon Howell, Steffan Davies, Rhys Davies,Phil Furney, Dafydd George and Dai Cole.

Pre Season Will Be Tough No Measures Spared
Pre season games are always good to look forward to and already there has been an interest, Bow Street, Penrhyncoch and Aberystwyth have been confirmed. So any new players looking to sign for the Blues will get the chance to rate themselves against quality opposition.

DATE CHANGE   Saron away is now  Wednesday  29th July  6.45pm ko (mixture of teams)
Aberystwyth Res away Friday  25th July  6.45pm ko (1st Team)
DATE CHANGE    Haverfordwest away is now on Tuesday 28th July 6.45pm ko (1st team)
Bow Street away Thursday 30th July 7.00pm ko (1st Team)
Penrhyncoch away Friday 14th August 7.00pm ko (1st Team)
Narberth away Tuesday 18th August ko 6.45 (1st Team)

The Saron game will be of mixed players and the  managers of the 2nds & 3rds will organise their own matches 

Also on the Saturday 25th July Maesglas FC have entered two teams for the StDogmaels Tournament.

PRE SEASON TRAINING BEGINS

Pre-  season training is under way every Monday night  at Maes Radley at 6.30pm, its important to the club on the attendance is good  so that  club can field 3 teams again, so please pass on this message to all. New Players also invited !!!

DAY TRIP TO IRELAND ON HOLD FOR NOW

Our day trip to Ireland has been put on holdfor now until a new date is sorted. Just to remind you that the cost is only £25.00pp this includes a mini bus for trip home.  The Stenna quick boat leaves at 11.30 from Fishguard and we take the slow boat home from Rosslare at 9.00pm that evening, its a great day out spent in Wexford town.

Maesglas Presentation Night 2008/09

An excellent evening was had by all at the Highbury Hotel in Cardigan, the awards were presented by Julian Palmer of Derw Glass and Richard Evans of Richard Evans & Son Haulage Contractor.
