This is the madspeed performance scooter gallery. In this section you will find a number of picture of scooters designed and built by Madness as well as a wide range of pictures taken of Bradford discharge on various different scooter rallies

Splinter In The Minds Eye

Splinter was built by Madness who is one of the best engine builders in England. The scooter in question consists of a Madspeed TS250 ceramic bore engine, 11 spring adigi clutch, 36 mil power jet enamel carb, 62 mil rotax crank, Yam RD350 race read block . This scooter has been in many custom shows across the country and is one of Europe's best lambretta cut downs with many trophies to prove it. This scooter is defiantly not for the faint hearted. This scooter has been featured 3 times on the TV also in many magazines and newspapers. It was the first scooter to be featured in "Scootering Magazine" and "On Target" this millennium . In Madnesses words "Need i say more".

Madspeed 1

Madspeed 1 was the first Madspeed scooter to go into production originally it consisted of a ts235 ceramic bore however madness had to sell this machine to finance some of his newer projects. A lad in Leeds bought Madspeed 1 although still not in the same condition he has been offered considerable amounts of money for this scooter but he refuses to part with it. originally built for madness as a promotion vehicle and to ride to various rallies this scooter was the first Madspeed. Madness then decided all the scooter he was to own and not sell should have odd numbers hence 1,3,5,7, and so on. this would then indicate to madness that he was not only responsible for the unique paint jobs but also for the super tuned engines. the Madspeed selection of scooters numbered 2,4,6,8 and so are all scooters with the paintjobs designed by madness not the engine rebuilds. please make note of this if you ever see any of these machines up for grabs.

Madspeed 3

Madspeed 3 yet another highly tuned scooter this scooter consists of an original 1971 GP200. This scooter was sold to a member of the Bradford Discharge Scooter Club for a mere ?5000. However when the owner realized madness was building another even better madspeed with stars and stripes he then decided to part ex this one in. Watch this space for the new madspeed 7. please remember all the work on these scooters from a nut to the highly tuned engine3s are all calculated to madness specifications. In madness words "You get what you pay for"
P.S. Ask yourself this have you ever seen a Madspeed scooter ever being pushed?

Madspeed 5

Joe (Mental) having a bit of a dispute with pie at Mersea island scooter rally. Wayne persuaded his dad madness to build him a lamby cutdown for the field the one in questions is a Madspeed 5 "A Cut Above The Rest" machine consisting a LI125 engine with a stage 4 tune barrel. Wayne's been known to get about 75MPH out of the machine not bad for the field!

Madspeed 8

Madspeed 8 was originally bought as an Indian TS1 the engine was over hauled and serviced by Madspeed. The paint job was all carried out by Madness for a chap called Les in the Dewsbury area of west Yorkshire. Unfortunately this scooter had to be sold to finance another project madness was doing for Les. However this scooter can still be seen on various rallies so keep your eyes open for it. the young lady posing on the scooter is Les's daughter Laura.

Madspeed 9

This handsome young chap goes by the name of Tango. He is a fellow member of the Bradford Discharge Scooter Club after riding custom choppers and rat cutdowns he entrusted madness to build him a classic lambretta street racer. Tango didn't want your average GP or SX street racer he decided top go for a LI125 1964 as he felt that the poor old LI range of scooter doesn't get enough recognition these days. They are usually standard and original but on this occasion Tango opted for the Madspeed TS225 touring version tune as he needed reliability with a boost of speed. now tango has got so used to the speed he is discussing with madness whether to convert this scooter to a Madspeed super tuned 250 conversion with a guaranteed speed of 100MPH +. He has also got his head together with madness to build him a lambretta chopper by the name of "In The Mind Of Madness" this will be one of the fastest lambretta road legal scooters on the planet consisting of a special ceramic bore 250 conversion so keep your eyes pealed.

Madspeed 12

Madspeed 12 was the scooter mentioned in Madspeed 8 Les from Dewsbury in west Yorkshire had to sell Madspeed 8 to finance this project. It consists of Japanese style Madspeed writing with flames. although madness doesn't do much of the engine work on there even numbered ones Les asked madness to give it a full overhaul. Madness put one of his special one of adigi clutch conversions in this project to stop clutch drag. however Les has sold this scooter since this article to finance yet another Madspeed project.

Progress

Progress what can i say about this machine the picture says it all. Originally built madness some 14 years ago this scooter was originally called "scoles bandit" and was green.. However Biggy a fellow member of Bradford Discharge Scooter Club just had to have it when madness told him, he was going for the RG Geiger Paint Theme. Biggy has owned this scooter now for a number of years. Biggy can be seen quite often on the scooter at rallies and going to and from work. it is a daily driven scooter and if he has any problems he just sends the scooter back to madness who amends it with his eyes closed.

Spot the odd one out!

This picture was taken in the lake district at devils bridge in Kirby Lonsdale. i think madness was taking the piss when he put the scooter in-between some 300 - 400 motorcycles and had his photo taken. the bikers didn't seem to amused but in Madness's words "Who gives a ?"

David on Flashes Li150

Madspeed 2

Madspeed 2 came as a lock stock jet 200 a chap asked madness if he could do something a little with the engine and paint and this is what madness produced. it only took 3 days to transform.
