The village of Madogo lies 7 kilometres North of Garissa Town, and is situated on the banks of the Tana River, marking the border between the North Eastern Province and the Coast Province.
The population of the village is around 400 families. It is estimated that a 100 of these families embrace the Catholic faith, while the remaining 300 are mainly Muslims together with some animists.
The people have settled in this poor village because in their home villages could not offer them neither employment nor agriculture land. Although Madogo is dry, too yet it lies on the bank of the Tana River and quite close to Garissa town. They plant maize and some vegetables which they sell in the town.
