Rare outing for M18 and 2260.

Sunday 23 October 2006 saw both M18 and 2260 extracted from their deep storage and taken out to stretch their legs. This is the first time M18 has been out since August 2004 and she performed superbly without fault. 2260 was also moved for the first time since February 2005.

2263 stripped for spares.

Regrettably we have had to make the decision to dismantle 2263 (SDT263Y) for spare parts. A serious engine fault occured on 2214 at the Totally Transport event in Blackpool on 25 June 2006 (Sheffields Last Dominator Day!!!). Rather than undertake a lengthy engine strip down on 2214, a quick fix option was taken to use 2263's sound engine and then repairs to the defective engine can be done over this winter. Having surveyed both 2260 and 2263 we have concluded that 2260 is in much better condition of the two, requiring less work in the future, when its turn for restoration arrives.

SYPTE Dennis Dominator 2263 (SDT263Y) joins collection.

On Sunday 12/2/06 SYPTE Dennis Dominator 2263 SDT263Y joined the group for preservation. It was collected using the group tow wagon M4 OWJ354A. Some photos of the day are here: http://www.m3group.fotopic.net/c860247.html
