2214 was delivered in June 1982 to the Doncaster depot of South Yorkshire PTE (SYPTE), entering service at the end of the month painted in the standard cream and brown livery. However the following month it was taken into the paintshop at Doncaster and repainted into the Doncaster Tramways livery of maroon and cream with a grey roof, fully lined out in gold.

It re-entered service in August 1982 bearing adverts for the forthcoming open day at Rotherhams brand new Midland road depot, held in September 1982. After the event 2214 recieved sponsorship from a local florist's in Doncaster.

2214 became something of a garage showbus and together with Leyland Atlantean 1797 (in Doncaster Transport purple stripe red livery), attended many transport shows and events. Probably its longest trip was with the Roadshow bus M6, to the London Transport Golden Jubilee rally at Chiswick works in 1983.

A repaint in the late 1980's saw 2214 repainted into the SYT livery of cream, red and brown, which it carried until being repainted into Mainline red and yellow, with blue and silver stripes, which had been introduced after SYT had been sold to its empoloyees. Mainline was sold to First in 1998 and the livery was simplified to just yellow and red. 2214 was purchased in this livery.

2214's restoration commenced in 2003 with the brakes and wheel bearings being stripped and refurbished. Several wheel bearings were replaced together with the off-side rear brake shoes and all the hub seals. It also had a new king pin fitted to the off-side front with new brake hoses and the foot brake valve has also been overhauled.

Attention then turned to the bodywork. Various fiberglass units were purchased from other withdrawn Dominators, a front dome, a windscreen pan, front headlight panels, rear dome, bootlid and lower rear panel, rear engine corners and a steel front bumper. All these parts were fitted over the following two years, together with a full repannel in aluminium.  It was then totally repainted into its Doncaster Tramways livery.

2214 has also had an engine change, recieving the engine from 2152 in December 2004. It also is MOT tested to full PSV standards.
