The cottage is ideally situated for the Lancashire Coastal Path, which can be accessed 400 yds away, and also for birdwatching on the Ribble Estuary where  1/4 million wading birds overwinter. The Fairhaven RSPB centre is approx 1.5 miles away. www.rspb.org.uk/england/northwest/conservation/ribble

Further afield the Ribble & Lune valleys, Beacon Fell and the Forest of Bowland are all within 40 minutes drive.

The Lake district can be reached in 1 hour

Lytham Skating rink's return to bring festive cheer  from Dec. 12th. to Jan 4th

Lytham Town  Centre will once again this year be turned into a Winter Wonderland during the festive season with an ice rink returning to Lytham Piazza and extra lights and decorations as  Fylde Borough Council splash the cash in order to make the Fylde the place to come this christmas for all your shopping and to get into the festive spirit.  From December 12th until January 4th  the 260 ft rink will be open to everyone.  A 45min skate costs £6. for adults and £4.50 for children, and groups are entitled to discounts.  Disabled skate facilities are available.  For more information contact 07786 078423.
