More Weight-Loss Blogs

I love to visit other inspirational weight-loss blogs and informational websites. Here are a few of my favorites. I'll add more as I find ones I like.

The Skinny , written by Gail Gedan Spencer and Laura Kelly, writers for the Sun-Sentinel newspaper in south Florida

WeightWatchen. Roni's got food and weight-loss tips, a weight-loss community, and great cooking videos.

Diet Naked

Hungry Girl for daily food tips and tricks

SparkPeople

Half Of Me, who's author, Jennette Fulda, has a book coming out in April called "Half-Assed: A Weight-Loss Memoir".

Diet-Blog

Livin'LaVidaLowCarb. If low-carb is your thing, Jimmy Moore's got the info for you.

The 6-K Club. A very motivating site written by Jasem Al Zeraei of Kuwait.

Just Another Weigh. Jodi not only journals her own weight loss (and is very creative and funny), but she has a list of excellent links to other bloggers as well.

Weight Loss Without Worry. Great blog by Dr. Becky Gillaspy, a Certified Wellness Coach and Doctor of Chiropractic.

My favorite personal websites

Like me, a lot of Weight Watchers members and other online friends have websites. Here are some of the sites that always motivate and teach me. Give them a look see. I love these people and owe them more than my gratitude for helping me stay strong when I doubted myself, making me laugh when I thought I hated myself, and keeping me real when I thought I knew it all.

Kristin flew all the way out to Pennsylvania from California to see me late September 2007. For nearly two years, she and I spent countless hours emailing each other and talking on the phone, all those things friends do, except we'd never seen each other in person. She's every bit as fun, snarky, wise, honest, cute, and extremely smart in person as she is in every other way I got to know her. I won't gush because she hates that, but I will say she's helped me understand people in a way no one else has been able to, and she's helped me pull my head out of my ass more times than I care to admit. Here we are in Pittsburgh during her visit.

Here we are with Carlene eating tiramisu at Bucca's. We REALLY love tiramisu.

Dana - July 2007

Dana has really embraced her inner rocker chick, and she invited me to see Nickelback with her and her sister last July. Only, it wasn't just a concert. We had a weekend. A really really fun weekend, even though at one point I thought we were goners. I wrote two blogs about it: What Happens in Hershey... and  Riding In Cars With Strangers. Dana is the kindest, most open and down to earth person I've ever met. I'm so very proud to call her my friend.

Dana and her sister, Ann, Dana's best friend.

March 27, 2007

#9 on my WW Peeps I've Met list is Christy!! She's one of the strongest and nicest teenagers I've ever met. And beautiful, too. She was in town visiting her sister who goes to school here. Very sweet girl - I'm so glad we met up!

Jenna and me in Little Rock, Nov. 20

I met JazzerJenna today for lunch in Little Rock!! She picked up Larry and me at the Bill Clinton Library and took us to a very cool microbrewery for lunch downtown. This woman is as nice as she is beautiful. And she's a writer, too! I had a great time meeting her. Next WW I'm meeting is Mom2Gar (Tonya) on Wednesday. It's like I'm on a WW tour, even though I'm really here in Arkansas to visit relatives for Thanksgiving. Here's Jenna and me at the restaurant today.

Tonya and Me in Rogers, Arkansas, Nov. 22

I met my seventh WW board member today - Tonya (Mom2Gar). What beautiful, poised, and intelligent women the state of Arkansas contains! Tonya is a lovely young woman with incredibly gorgeous eyes. Do you see how blue they are? She's awesome - very warm and easy to talk to. My husband said we can come back to Arkansas anytime for lunch. He enjoyed meeting Tonya and Jenna almost as much as I did. Here we are at Famous Dave's BBQ restaurant in Rogers, Arkansas.

November 4 - Pittsburgh

Today I got together in Da'Burgh with: Carol (SnowGirl), Chris (CrispyRice), Mary (LoafingCactus) and Gina (StellarSteelers). We went to the Waterfront and ate lunch at Mitchell's Fish Market (Gina, the brave little soldier she is, hates fish but found a chicken salad she could eat). We then went and did a little shopping - definitely girl bonding time. These chickas are a RIOT! I'm not kidding. The Waterfront will NEVER be the same. From left to right: Me, Gina, Chris, Mary and Carol.

October 6, 2006 - Lynn Meets Jayne

I met WW board lurker JayneS27 (Jayne) today in Clarion of all places! Her daughter lives here with her husband and two children. Jayne saw my posts online and "found" me. She's lost 107 pounds!! We had a great talk and I can't wait to see her again. Here we are at Clarion's Autumn Leaf Festival.

I'm no longer a WW Peeps virgin!

March 7, 2006

I met SnowGirl (Carol) and CrispyRice (Chris) at the Grove City Outlet Mall in Grove City, PA, for a little shopping and a little lunch! It was so much fun to meet two people from the boards. We could just fall into conversation, it was so easy. The day went WAY too fast, but here are a couple of photos. The one of the three of us didn't turn out on my camera so as soon as Chris sends me her's I'll post it.
