Down 118 pounds |
I bought new pants the other day - size 12/14s!! And when I tried on jeans, I'm comfortably in a 14. I never thought that day would come. I didn't buy the jeans because I won't be a size 14 for long, but they were fun to try on. The pants in this photo are the 12/14s.

It has been 3 weeks since my foot surgery. I still managed to, overall, lose a few pounds during the ordeal. I'm back to walking every day, a little slower than before, but that will improve every week. I'm not posting the really gross photos of my toe, but these are kinda cool, if you like that sort of thing :) Also pictured is my lovely bootie and mangled Nike that I cut apart with a box cutter to accommodate my swollen toe. Hey, it allows me to walk the track AND drive, so I'm happy. Just remember, if you ever think you're too tired to exercise or just don't feel like it, remember this - you'll WISH you could exercise if you get laid low for a few weeks. Do it, folks!! You'll feel great!

| Now for something completely different |

Here it is, Cinco de Mayo, and I'm dressed for a party. My first party in a long, long time. I stopped going to parties several years ago, at least big gatherings like this one would be, because I wanted to hide what I looked like from the world. I'm still not real happy with the body shot, but this is the first photo I've allowed anyone to take of me with short sleeves or no sleeves in a long time. Here's me at my new 181.9 weight.

| Officially "overweight!" - 111 gone |
What a difference a day makes. Yesterday I was "obese" and today (April 24) I am "overweight." My BMI is officially 30. I had set my goal of 185 for April 21 so I missed it by 3 days (big whoop). Next goal? 167 by August 19, my daughter's wedding.

| Almost 110 gone, almost not obese anymore |
It's April 23 and I weigh a few tenths more than 185, the magic number which means, according to my BMI, that I am no longer considered "obese" but rather "overweight" (BMI between 25-30). Considering my BMI started out at 48, or as the medical community likes to call it, "morbidly obese," I'm feeling pretty good about my being "almost" overweight.
The pounds are coming off a little slower this month due to my building muscle and losing fat. I'm not on a regular exercise regimine (I still HATE formal exercise), but I've been more physically active than usual and taking almost daily walks. My new clothes are getting loose already, but you won't hear me complain. I'm still hoping to lose another 15 pounds before the wedding in August.
Cassie graduated from nursing school last week. Here's a few photo of Larry, Cassie and me from the event.
