~ The Lovely Lynne Russell ~

This site is devoted to the beautiful and multi-talented Lynne Russell, the popular former news anchor of CNN Headline News. Lynne was there right from the start when Ted Turner (in 1983) created a 24-hour cable news station. She holds the distinction of being the very first female to become the regular solo news anchor of a daily evening prime time newscast on a television network. One Lynne Russell fan described her presence on that station as "...the cheeringest, friendliest, easily most affable newscaster on the CNN Headline News Network..." That coupled with Lynne's anatomical charms made her a big hit with her predominantly (presumably) male audience. Lynne held that post until May of 2001 when she decided to hang it up and move on.

Ahh...but she's no ordinary ex-news anchor. Lynne possesses a first-degree black belt in Choi Kwang Do. She's also a part-time Deputy Sheriff in the Reserve Division in Fulton County, Ga. and a licensed private investigator and bodyguard. Lynne packs a pistol in her thigh holster and 'knows' how to use it -- so don't mess with her. She has also appeared on covers of various magazines, most notably the June 1995 issue of The Saturday Evening Post, the April 1995 issue of Atlanta magazine, and the November 1998 issue of Jezebel magazine. On the covers and inside the last two magazines, she wore outfits that most certainly raised her fans' collective pulse and blood pressure. To further add to her credentials, Lynne is also an author. In 1999 she wrote a book aptly entitled "How To Win Friends, Kick Ass & Influence People." And to top things off, in 2002 Lynne introduced a line of cosmetics, most notably a lipstick called "Lynne Russell Red". It's a seductive shade of red that she popularized while doing her evening newscasts.

When she's not working, Lynne finds time to ride her Harley Davidson motorcycle, plays hockey, enjoys scuba diving (she's licensed as well) and works out in the gym honing her martial arts skills to a razor's edge. Like I said, don't mess with her. Yesiree, Lynne's one tough cookie. But she's also a looker. She's a celebrity of sorts -- something of a rarity in her former line of work -- and probably more importantly, a sex symbol, if you will, to her many male admirers. Many of her fans consider Lynne to be the original "infobabe." In fact, during the mid-1990's amidst Lynne's fast-growing popularity, she turned down a few offers from Playboy magazine to pose in a non-nude pictorial. Though she politely declined, she was flattered enough to have the proposal framed and has it hanging on a wall somewhere. After leaving Headline News in May of 2001, Lynne reconsidered Playboy's offer(s) and announced that talks between the two parties were in the process. However, much to her many fans' disappointment, she has yet to appear in that publication. We still have our fingers crossed though. :-)

Finally, to further showcase her popularity, there's even a newsgroup (alt.fan.lynne-russell) that's devoted to Her Lynneness, as she's referred to by many of her fans. Check it out.
