LYE CC.
PAVILLION APPEAL

CAN YOU HELP US?
Following the fire on 30th August 2007 which destroyed Lye Cricket Club's old wooden pavilion in its 150th year, the cricket club is announcing that it is bringing forward the launch of the Anniversary Appeal to celebrate 150 years of cricket at Lye since the club was founded at the Lye institute on June 1858 and would ask for your support.
The anniversary appeal will focus on funding the additional costs of building a new brick built pavilion estimated at £40,000 as well as a series of new improvements, including new practice facilities which will particularly benefit the club's youngsters.
Financial contributions to the Aniversary Appeal should be made to Lye Cricket Club and sent to the Club's treasurer:
Mr D Benton, at 35 Sandon Road, Pedmore Hill, Stourbridge, West Midlands, DY9 8XY.
All donations will be acknowledged in the new pavilion.
The cricket club for its part has submitted applications for the limited grants that are available, is utilising the skills and contacts of our members and former members to reduce the costs of the new pavilion and is also organising fund raising events ( i.e a golf day).
Former cricketer and local architectural consultant Mike Morris has commenced the design work for the new pavilion. Planning permission was approved in February and tenders for the construction will be invited early in June.
However this can only be achieved if the club can fund the £40,000 short fall and all contributions, no matter how large or small will be massively appreciated.
If you should require any more information please telephone Len Wright on 01384 350407.
Thank you
Lye CC.
