There are many people who are vehemently opposed to women preachers and women in church leadership. There are others that are just as extreme in their defense of women preachers.
As with any doctrine people can find a number verses and explanations to make their point. By virtue of being human it is always possible that we don't have a full understanding of a topic or a doctrine. In non essentials there is always a chance that there is more to be said and heard on a particular issue. My personal opinion is to shut up and let God be God. It's far better to let Him decide who He can and cannot use. Whether or not I agree with it is not the point. Let God judge what other people are doing and keep your hand to the plow. Whenever we get to the point where nobody can tell us anything about anything we are indeed walking on dangerous ground. Whenever we get to the point where we can't show love to people who don't see 100% of everything 100% the way we do we are walking on dangerous ground.
I believe the moral of the story is how we TREAT the people we don't agree with. People striving, condeming and bickering is definitely not the fruit of the Spirit.
