1) I only accept videos from the following television fandoms. I may add more later, and possibly allow movies later as well. If you want to ask me about another TV show that you think I might know fairly well because you'd like to submit a video with clips from it, please email me and ask. For now I accept: Heroes, Gilmore Girls, Smallville, Kyle XY, Friends, Psych, Ugly Betty (SEASONS 1 & 2 ONLY), Grey's Anatomy, ER, Desperate Housewives, 7th Heaven, The Office, Scrubs, Arrested Development, Six Feet Under, Opposite Sex, One Tree Hill, The Bedford Diaries, Southland, Glee, and American Dreams (SEASON 1 ONLY at the moment but I will be watching the rest of the series soon). Ask if you think I watch another show and should accept it but I just forgot to list is - I'll tell you whether or not I can allow it! Ask by emailing me or tagging me...Also I just removed 5 shows from the list because I don't really know/remmeber the fandoms well enough to judge fairly. SORRY. But in exchange I did just add 5 fandoms plus an extra season of Ugly Betty to the list... so... ;) I hope no one minds the new list. ;)
2) Obviously I will ban you from the round if you submit porn or otherwise obviously offensive videos. Profanity in songs is allowed, however, as well as Slash and most things you may want to throw at me. Even slideshows are permitted, but they will probably lose unless they are brilliantly done and timed to the music.
3) No SUPER low quality clips (don't set up a video camcorder in front of your television to get clips, for instance).
4)Crossovers and AU videos containing at least 40% clips from one of the above fandoms are allowed. So a half Heroes, half Supernatural video is fine, but a video that includes clips from Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, and Nip Tuck with only 20% clips from Grey's Anatomy can no longer be allowed. I'm sorry.
5) When sending me the video, I prefer streaming sites like YouTube, Imeem, BAM Vid Vault, or Photobucket, but if you must send me a download, I can accept most sites and file formats. If I can't figure it out I'll let you know. But pretty much everything is acceptable.
6) New (changed) rule! Now I will allow two (2) videos per vidder! However, please try your best to enter DIFFERENT videos if you enter 2. Like if your first entry is cute and sweet, try to pick a second entry that is angsty or a tearjerker. Or make only one of them a video about a couple and the other one about a whole cast or something. You stand a better chance at winning more awards if your 2 videos are very different and not always competing against each other.
7) On the submission form where it says "High school kids can be so nasty" , please put "in a cut-throat war for popularity" so that I know you read the rules. If you want to tell me which video of mine that line is from, feel free to add it in the additional comments section. I always pick my quotes from songs I have made videos to - usually lines I particularly like! :D
8) You must subscribe to my site on the homepage when you submit, unless you've already done so. PLEASE DON'T FORGET, it's important that you get an email when I post the winners or updates or stuff like that.
9)NEW RULE: I will try, for this one round, to pick all the categories your videos are entered in myself. All the category choices are the same for now but I'm deciding instead of you which categories each video belongs in. I'll test it out and see how difficult it is to judge this way. If I like it, the rounds may stay that way, if I don't I might switch back to you guys picking your own categories.
10) Anyone who doesn't win another award will receive an Honorable Mention. If all you receive is the Honorable Mention, feel free to enter the video into any subsequent round. Depending on how steep the competition is, you may not win an award one round but still have a good enough video to win in a subsequent round. If you request a review, you will have a better idea of how good of a chance you have of winning subsequent rounds. MY REVIEWS ARE HARSH. Beware. On YouTube sometimes I'm slightly critical but usually I try to be polite. But here, on my own website, I feel free to be brutally honest. I still try to keep some tact, but no promises. So don't be offended if I don't praise your video in my review. I will praise the videos I truly find no faults with, previous winners of the BEST awards can attest to that. But if you had a lot of things you shouldn't have done in your video, I will list them for you. And if you won second place, I might explain how your video was amazing but also will mention what little thing I think made your video worse than the first place winner's. Hopefully it's a good explanation for all of you and you'll understand how my thought process works when I judge. I write the reviews as I judge. :D
11) Round 8 will close on Sunday, July 5th!! Please try to submit 2 videos by then. :D I will TRY to start judging before the round even closes so that I can actually have the awards up within a day or two after the round closes. But no promises. Still, I really am going to try.
