Best Video: This is fairly self-explanatory, but basically if I think a video was better than all of the others, it should win this award. It will have won multiple other awards in the round and I will know, simply from seeing it, that it took a remarkable amount of time and effort to create it - and I know this will be one of the hardest awards to give each round, so if you never win it, don't fret, your video is still, most likely amazing. Also remember - this is simply my opinion, and there are many other awards sites to try if you don't like mine!
Best Vidder: If you have submitted 2 or more videos, and both/all of the videos you submitted this round were particularly extraordinary, you'll win!
Judge's Choice: The least objective award, in that basically, it will be my favorite video of the round!
Best Editing: If you make a video that didn't win first place for "Best Song Use", "Best Timing", and "Best Effects", but your video would have won if all 3 had to go to the same person, you'll get "Best Editing". You have to have a basically flawless video, but it doesn't have to be better than all of the other videos, it simply has to have the most impressive editing! Your idea may not be the most original, and it probably isn't my favorite, although if I get one video that is way better than all of the others than yours may win "Best Video", "Best Editing", and more first place awards... We'll see...
Best Effects: You have to know how to make effects look really good in your video - impress me, and don't use too many and take away from their effectiveness.
Best Song Use: You can win this one of two ways - you either choose a song that fits your concept so well it's scary (like a song with specific lyrics or a specific theme/message that actually matches the exact plot in the TV show), or you manage to match the lyrics of a song the best - or, I suppose, you might do both!
Best Storyline: If you create a storyline for an AU or crossover video that really impresses me and makes me wonder and possibly even wish the story was true, or at least impresses me, you can win this. Also, if you take a real storyline from a show, and follow it exactly in a video and portray it well, you could also win this award.
Best Timing: Meant for faster-paced videos, a video set to a slow song could win, by really, I'm looking for changing of scenes exactly on the beat...
Best Tearjerker: If you make me cry, you'll win. If you make me feel like crying, you'll win second place.
Best AU/Crossover: All of the Slash, crossovers, AUs, etc. should go into this category! If yours is the best out of all of them, in terms of manipulations or making me invested in the fake storyline/relationship or whatever, you'll win!
Best Portrayal: If you portray a storyline that's actually in a show, show a character for who they truly are, simply capture the true essence of the show, etc., you can win this award. Basically, enter this category if you think you portrayed something well! If you want to clarify what it is you think you portrayed well, leave it as a comment on the submission form!
Best Happy Ending: It could be a sad video that ends with a nice feeling of hope, that not all is necessarily bad... or a video that ends with a nice memory... or a video with one of those plotlines where you have to watch until the end to see what happens, but it ends up being happy... basically anything that you think will leave me with a warm and fuzzy feeling when I'm finished watching it!
Best Sad Ending: Basically if the end of the video is a very final moment like someone's death, or the video is a whole bunch of moments leading up to a breakup, etc. then this category applies to you. It should probably be a meaningful, moving, make me want-to-cry ending!
Best Angst: For any generally sad/depressing videos, rage-filled videos, fighting videos of any kind, basically if the main mood in the video isn't happy, you should probably enter it here.
Most Moving: This could be a similar category as "Best Tearjerker", but it doesn't actually have to make me cry or feel like crying, it simply has to make me really feel an emotion of some kind while I watch it!
Best Comedy: The funniest video will win - make me laugh!
Most Unique: Self-explanatory, I think - stand out from most videos I've seen, or at least all of the ones in this round!
Best Character: Needs to be a video focused on one character, and if you do the best job of portraying who the character really is, you'll win! Also - if you show a unique side of a character, this could be different than "Best Portrayal", you could still win... just impress me!
Best Romance: For all of the videos focused on a romantic relationship - a sad one that failed or a happy one that persevered - if yours is the best out of all the romance videos you'll win. Yours could be the best for a number of different reasons, it all depends...
Best Relationship (Not Romantic): Families, Friends, Coworkers, Enemies, Opposites - enter this category if you make a video about a relationship that is definitely not romantic between two people, but you think it portrays the relationship well (ex: it shows how much Lorelai loves her daughter Rory, how Betty always saves Daniel, how Clark and Lex grew apart, how Claire Bennet and Elle Bishop are opposites, how Kyle helps Jesse discover herself, etc.). Just make sure if it's in this category you're not implying a romantic relationship of any kind (ex: Clark & Lex as enemies works here, but if you made the video as a tribute to the slash couple Clex, it doesn't belong here).
Best Anti-Couple: The video that best proves/explains why a couple doesn't belong together, or is simply about their break-up, etc.
Most Entertaining: Make me smile! Entertain me! Usually for more upbeat songs or unique ideas that are very well executed!
Best Cast: If it's about 4 or more characters in a show, it's a cast video, at least for the purpose of these contests - the best cast videos show everyone fairly equally, and often portray a show for what it truly is, but not always.
Best Concept: An idea for a video that is original and, quite frankly, wonderful in my opinion!
Most Sweet: The cutest, happiest, or otherwise light-hearted and sweet video of the round will win. Usually for simple songs about puppy-love or happy romance videos - cast videos could also win, as well as videos about families or friends if the videos contain little to no angst. Sort of an opposite for "Best Angst".
Best Point of View: Video that best depict's a character's point of view - usually by picking the right kind of song and then matching it wel. Could be a character video or a relationship, or possibly something else!
